Can anyone tell me what SS class the 383 Roadrunners were in as of '68? SS/G maybe? I know at that point, the 440 GTXs ran in D/S or D/SA, the SS versions ran SS/F, and the 383 Roadrunners ran in E/S or E/SA, but was wondering what class they were in as of '68. As of '67 there were only 5 SS classes, A-E, but obviously that changed somewhere in 67-68. Not sure how far down the alphabet the list grew to by '68.

There was a SS/JA '69 383 Road Runner last weekend at Speedworld

Was that what it was classed circa '69, or more recently? SS/JA seems rather far down the line for being the same body style as the SS/F GTX, and only a relatively small amount diff in HP and/or weight. Even in the few short years from say '68-'71, I see cars that were reclassed quite a few times, so that's why I was wondering if anyone knows what the '68 Roadrunners(383) were classed when they were new.

FWIW I just found an e-mail that says the 383 roadrunners where classed in H and it wasn't a competitive combo

SS/H then OK, thanks Bob. Wonder why it wasn't competitive(?) The 383 stockers ran pretty well. What the other brands field against it in SS/H I wonder...
