Bought a 2012 like 2-3 years ago so factory warranty was done. Right after purchase got slammed with robo calls trying to sell an extended warranty. After saying no thanks however many times, we started saying "I am so happy you called - my transmission just started acting up". Didn't take long at all for the calls to stop.

We used to have Meat Trucks go around and ring bells and knock to sell meat from a Deep Freezer in the bed of the truck was never the same guys but the company was the same.
1-2 times a week! So my wife says this has to stop! I said well I got this, so the bell rings I go to the door and Act Flaming Gay! [Seindfeid] Not that therse anything wring with that[/Seindfeid]
The guy starts in with how the meat is this and that and I say Oh I Would Love To See Your Meat but my husband handels all the money! He willbe home in 10-15 min. Come in and wait he would love to see your meat too! The guy says oh I do not have time and will come back! I figure they must have passed the word around at the shop as no one ever came again.

Had one of those meat trucks show up while I was at work. Girl that was living with me at the time bought a ton of stuff of it. I was the one that was home when they came back and it didn't go well for them. The bozo kept insisting to speak with the woman of the house and I kept insisting that he vacate the premises while he was still able to under his own power. When the pushy SOB wouldn't f' off I said hang on a second and closed the door. Went in the garage and grabbed the 4 foot section of iron sprinkler pipe that I use for a serious breaker bar. He seemed to be much less interested in the woman of the house when I returned.

I get the robo calls all the time for the extended coverage on my car warranty. I would call the number and ask them how much it would cost to get the warranty on my 48 Plymouth and they told me it was too old. So then I told them I thought my 39 Dodge pickup was probably too old as well. They hung up on me, but the robo calls keep coming in. Different number every time. That "Do not call" list is a joke. I was getting those calls all the time for a while. Maybe I still do but I’ve gotten much more hesitant to answer the phone in recent times.
I used to get the calls where the first thing they’d ask is “what is the mileage on your 2009 Challenger”?
One time I answered 900,000 miles. The woman said seriously, what is your mileage? I said I am serious, I commute from Chicago to LA every day and it really racks up the miles! Click!
I always feel like I’ve won with a telemarketer when they hang up on me.

I tell them I want coverage on my 1939 Jaguar pickup truck.

The last meat truck that showed up, the lady of the house told them they were on private property and everyone in the neighborhood carried guns and she was beginning to feel like she was in danger of being harmed and they better get going. They did.

Try getting an extended warranty on a diesel

They wanted $3500 to cover our 04 PT for 3 years. The book value on the car is something $3200. Yea....
