the end changed and the gear for the speedo is different for the 66 and up. someone repops the gears now, forget who. I had a new cable made here. http://www.zepco.com/but they are local to me and I was able to take the old one to them. but they had the parts in some drawers right there and made it for me in like 20 min.

working on a 55 plymouth with a 273/904 out of a 65 satellite . speedometer cable is corrugated tube style , and like nothing ive seen. The end at the transmission is much smaller dimeter than later torqueflite.Anyone familiar with these , or how to get a new cable? Odd, when the speedo cable in my 51 Plymouth needed replacement I used a cable spec'd for my 65 Cuda, got it from Rock Auto, dug thru my receipts and the PN is ATP Y803 Other than being a bit long it works fine.

The ATP Y803 cable has threaded nuts at both ends, the '65 904 needs a cable with one unthreaded end.
