it looks like the track in spokane will be a completly different facility this year. its pretty amazing how bright the future there is. last year we were thinking it was going to be a golf coarse for the casino! they are putting in 670 feel of concrete right now. for those that have never been here, its a really nice layout but the track had gone down hill over the last 20 years, there was NO upkeep. however things are changing fast. they are having a 2 day race over the 4th of july called a hotrod race, 72 and older cars only. im planning on going to that! heres a link http://spokanecountyraceway.com/ heres a link.

Gonna try and hit up many tracks this year as well as doing the usual points deal at Pacific. That's one of the tracks on my list to hit.

So let me ask you guys this. The wife and I have been wanting to come up there to do some site seeing and such. Figured we would also try and hit a race or two maybe as well. Is there anything that is happening up there in the fall? Like September or later as she will be in Iraq til late July, maybe a Mopar race?

Wow! The last I heard, SRP was going into a condominium development. Very cool, and what a historical race way that’s been saved... The infamous Don Garlits Blowover at Spokane Raceway – 1987 AHRA World Finals. CompSyn

Al,the Canada West Doorslammers have a race in Spokane Sept 12 and 13. I haven't been to the race track in Spokane before but with the improvements I am looking forward to going. You only got to go 8.70 to get in, how's that car on a 4/10 pro tree?

Don't let that Alguire guy on this site. After all that trouble he caused on that other thread. I was willing to let him make up for it by buying the wife and I dinner, but big Al was a no show (some kinda con man I think). I'm not sure he really exists. I will be in Spokane in September for a meeting, would be cool to meet a few of you.

He does not, he is a figment of your imagination. When you bringing that big black and red machine down this way?
My car does OK on a .400 tree. New trans and converter have made it better. Ran .400 tree a at a heads up deal last fall and did just fine. Is there more info somewhere about this race? What is the elevation at that track and what is the typical DA that time of year?
What about the track in Medford?

Someone else who races there will have to chime in on the elevation and typical DA at Spokane, there schedule calls the race on the 12 and 13 the NW Street car shootout, I don't see any other info on there web site about elevation etc. We don't run heads up, it's a fast bracket race with a 4/10 pro tree. It looks like the NPSA is racing there that weekend as well which is our Seattle area street car association which does race heads up.

Oh believe me I am no heads up racer. I run with a local heads up group, just some local guys that like to run all out and they allow me to run with them because the car is naturally aspirated. The fact I dont mind paying the $400 entry fee does not hurt either, more money to the winner. EVERY other car that runs with the group is a nitrous, turbo or blown piece. So far that is about the only .4 tree stuff I do. My car is a bracket car plain and simple. It aint fast enough to do anything else with. The deal you are talking about sounds like fun and I can go better than 8.70 for sure. Worst air I have run in so far with the new motor was in Vegas and was about 4000/+-. I prefer to run the car all out as to on the stop or slowing it down. Just not fast enough to run T/S with, it needs to go on a diet

It would be pretty cool to meet up, here is a link to the Canada West doorslammers www.canadawestdoorslammers.com, it has rules, entry costs and history and pics of the cars etc. You wont have to pay 400.00 to race with us either

It's good to hear they are going to fix that skating rink with some concrete, maybe I'll have some incentive now to get my Avenger finished. It's just so far to other tracks I haven't been too inspired. If any of you guys make it to Spokane let me know and if possible I'll come and visit even if the car is not ready.
Al, the DA is typically in the 4000+ range if I remember correctly, though it will fall below that at times.

Hi Mike, I'll write it on the calender. If I didn't have too many irons in the fire there wouldn't be any problem to get my car finished up, but I have one building project to finish, and then I need to expand my facility just to have the needed room again to work on cars.
