Before you me too much, I need to say that the [Mopar Performance] head bolts were torqued to spec but the motor was never run. Since the fresh mild rebuild, the basically stock 440 has sat for 6 months until a recently discovered bad 452 head (while getting ready to fire it up) is prompting me to just buy a new set of alummies. I just think it would be a shame to throw out a basically new set of expensive MP head bolts!

Not sure what heads you have but I recall a bolt kit that is sold for Eddys or you use studs.
I want my fair share

I'm getting Stealth heads and they said not to reuse the "factory" bolts, the 6 point ones. And that aftermarket 12 pointers are OK cause they have the washer. Shouldn't just be able to put hardened washers on them and torque em down?

On iron heads the stock bolts should be ok.I changed mine with the MPs because I paid like 16 bucks for a new set when I bought them. The Eddy and Stealth heads you cant use stock bolts. You need the ARPs.They have the small head and the washers which must be used. They can be reused as they are not stretch to yield bolts.Rocky
