Got a friends 60$ household item on CL that is now getting FLAGGED ! I think it’s a turd that gave me a stupid lowball offer.

What kind of reply did you give to his "stupid lowball" offer? If you were respectful, and cordial in your response, it may not be the lowballer.

If you read my post, I simply asked about the nature of your reply, if it was cordial and business like, or full of lip, as is your usual operating procedure around here and on other forums. Might be the root of your current flagging problems if you made the guy angry.

I get lowball offers on stuff listed on CL and FB regularly. Best just to be professional and politely decline their offer without putting in any sass or insulting them back, IMO.

As a CL novice, how/where is this "flagging" displayed or noted for others? Is the seller given the opportunity to give their side, ala Ebay feedback?

Yes, this. I've never seen 1 person pull down an ad. But if he links the auction to a few friends and they flag it, that seems to trigger it.

A few years ago, there was a guy posting a bunch of gay XXX rated dvd pornos movies on CL, day after day, and in his pics, you could see close up details of the covers. It was obscene. I emailed some friends, and they all flagged it, and we kept getting it taken down, as it was not something I felt the world should have to look at.

Maybe that's what Old Doc was selling too? Not sure.

Back to OP's original question: Unless your posting was a prohibited item, or against a CL rule, a sufficient level of flagging from multiple users will get your post removed. I don't know what that level is, but I'd guess 3 or more.

Usually you see it with competitive sellers and businesses trying to keep others from posting stuff, or if you have someone who wants your item on the cheap, or someone you ticked off. I've seen it many times.

Wait a few days and list it again with some changes to see if the guy who's flagging it gives up on messing with you.

If it's instantly, I would be doing a test posting of another item, in another category, to see if it goes through, or gets flagged, or if it's just that one particular item. Then you can rule out if there's something else that's going on.
