Superbird VIN is wrong

No superbird our of LA plant “E”

I’m guessing just a typo and the rest is correct?

Is this bird known? Most survived and many have ownership history’s

Inflation is up about 6x from 1970 so that Superbird would be $27,000 in today's dollars. Not a bad price really for a new car today. Cheap enough that a guy working for $25 an hour could afford it, especially with some overtime. Entry level muslecars these days are about 50% more expensive in real dollar terms than they were back in 1970.

Oh man, they were ALL cool! It was the era of cool.

True story: a guy I used to work with knew the Plum Crazy blonde model - she posed with the Plum Crazy Challenger ads in 1970. Se was the receptionist at his dentist in Union Lake, MI. He had some kind of Mopar T-shirt on one day at an appointment & she tells him she used to model for Dodge. Uh yeah - OK........... So she tells him to come by the next day & she had a bunch of photos from the different photo shoots. Sure enough - it was her. *I never saw any of these, but I always thought this was SO cool. He said she was a far cry from her younger days. Happens to us all unless you are Sophia or Racquel!

Question is, which one? The Duster is tempting with the floor speed. wink Or the GTX or Superbird with the 440 six pac. grin
Seriously, even figured in 2020 dollars, I'd buy any one of them in a heartbeat. boogie

Tim

Tough question. Back in those days I would've gone for the GTX. The Superbird was just too weird of a car back then, especially for a daily driver. I wasn't a big fan of either A body cars or E body cars back in the 70's although they have grown on me since. I loved the B body cars. My best friend in high school had a '70 RR with the 440+6, air grabber hood, four speed and Dana 60. I think he paid $1500 for it on a used car lot. That was probably my favorite car in high school.

That's way too cool and kind of funny in the way you wrote the "a guy I used to work with knew the Plum Crazy blonde model" laugh2 When I read it I thought it was going to be some crazy story how she went postal on him during a date or cruising Woodward one evening back in the day panic laugh2 laugh2
