I have an 86 Ram with a 318 and the carb number is unreadable. It looks like 4324. It's a stock Holley 2 bbl and the truck only has 60 k on it so I doubt it's been changed. I bought a kit from NAPA but most of the parts don't fit. The truck was purchased in PA so I don't think I'm dealing with any Cali emissions. Does anyone know the part numbers for these trucks? How many different carburetors did Dodge use?

What part number kit did you get? Can you post pictures of the carb numbers?

I'll get some pictures when I'm back in the shop but the sticker disintegrated when I wiped off the grease. I was looking around on NAPA's site and think I found the right kit by looking at the pictures of the gaskets. I'd also like to just dump the 2 bbl and bolt on and Eddy intake and carb.

The number should be stamped in the base as I recall.

a simple replacement for the 2v set up is the edelbrock 318/340/360 performer intake with 1405 edelbrock 600cfm or the newer model edelbrock annular dishcharge 600 cfm carb along with the edelbrock mopar throttle lever adaptor.

this will bolt on a 4v intake/carb that hooks right up with the stock throttle/PTK linkage and adjust out properly with a slight adjustment to the 2v carb flat slide bar(I bolt 2 together to correct length).. finding the 4v q-jet PTK linkage for a truck will fit with out mods and also opens you up to a edelbrock RPM air-gap intake and edelbrock carb if you need more for it.

my 85 360 headed 318 has rpm air-gap intake and edelbrock 750cfm carb stock q-jet PTK linkage.

also a stock 4v intake and a mopar q-jet & linkage is what came stock on 4v trucks so that's is a direct stock package on a 360 headed 318 or the 360 engine in trucks.

find the stock intake and you can buy a reman q-jet for the 85 truck about the same price a performance carb runs.

it will work with the small 318 port heads and the edelbrock performer intake is the best fit on those heads as they have a necked down runner for the 318 and requair porting to open them up to 340/360 port size.

a q-jet will fit the edelbrock 318/340/360 performer intake which is even better for a mopar q-jet/linkage set up.
