Nice work, looks like you polished the lights too!
I don't know about that generation, but the earlier ones are known for HVAC door issues. If you dive into the heater core, make sure to upgrade/fix those too!

Big door issues seem to be 03-07ish.... especially dual zone systems.

Thank you!

I didn't do anything with the lights except wash them, but they look too good for 147,000 miles, so I figure they have probably been replaced.
A few areas on the chassis appeared that way too (front brakes appeared brand new, like just replaced yesterday)

That's good news, and that's also more or less the way I read into it.......The doors were shot in my '03.
I was going to do them + evaporator +ac lines +accumulator while I was in there, and had bought most of the parts.
The new owner got a cab full of parts to go with the truck.
Come to think of it, I have to get ahold of him bc/ I also have an extra new steering stabilizer I forgot to throw in.

Yeah the door failure doesn't seem as common on the Gen 4s, so I was going to let it ride and just replace what was needed or farm it out.
Heater core + O ring for the expansion valve.

Checking it out, I greatly prefer the AC hose hookup at the firewall on the Gen 4...it just bolts to the expansion valve....
Its so much easier than dealing with the corroded/permanantly stuck together quick connects on the Gen 3/'03.
The quick connects would have needed to be cut to service the '03, one of the reasons I put off the repair...now it is no longer my problem LOL.
