I've only been to the Ferrari show in Brookline. Some pricey stuff as you can imagine.

My first Mopar show huh. For a big national Mopar show that's easy, Carlisle back in 2016. Loved it and been going back every year since then otherwise I have been to my car clubs Mopar shows but that is it.

1984 Mopar Nats at the Indy 500 track. I had gone to the Hot Rod and Car Craft shows for a couple of years and they were huge back then! But I decided I didn't have time to see all that brand-x crap to sift through to check out all the cool Mopars, so I decided to hitch hike down to Indy for an all Mopar show since I lived in Lafayette, IN and it was around 60 miles away. My Duster had 4.88 gears and I had no money for gas...LOL

Joe Kidd Dodge near Cincinnati around 1983/4 or so. Great show, Rick Cain had his Yellow Hemi Superbird there, Debbie Clark had her 69 Hemi Bee, Mike Ott had his 68 Hemi Bee, a beautiful 69 Hemi RR from Indiana running Centerlines (R7/White interior) that I have seen at the Nats for years, the Burnt Orange Superbird and a bunch of other nice MoPars. Great show. p I the Mike Ott Hemi Superbee still around? Back in the very early 90's I had gotten a big color poster of that car. The car was red with dog dish hubcaps. Framed it and hanging in my room.

Car was a nice original car out of Lexington, KY solid with a rash of door dings when it was bought.

I had just met my now wife and her brother was a vendor at Mopar Nationals. So we went to the one that was in Indianapolis. If I recall is was super chilly there because I had to buy my wife and I sweatshirts. I had a great time and enjoyed seeing so many cars. Especially when, back then, most of them were driven to the nationals.

Mine was Mopars at the Beach, after it outgrew Mayo Beach Park and moved to the Prince George's Equestrian Center in Upper Marlboro (MD). I'd first heard about it in 1986, but only after it had already happened. I tried to go the last year it was at Mayo Beach, but got turned away because the park was over capacity. Finally made it to the show in '89. '92 was the last one.

Can't remember which was the "first" one but probably one of the Mopar gatherings Stephen Di Giulian / Nick Miller put on starting in the early 80's, Fort Hunt Park, Mopars at the Beach and a couple others that usually drew a decent local crowd, these were VA/MD shows but we had folks from WV, Pa and NJ drive down to attend. First big show would have been the Mopar Nationals around the same time frame. Lee

Chrysler Classic at National Trail Raceway, May 1996. Rainy, miserable, no racing, decent swap meet. I was poor and disappointed. But it was the first one I'd been to and I was in awe.

My first all-Mopar show was the first Mopar Nats - Chelsea, MI. I believe this was 1981. I had my 71 Hemi Charger there & among other people, met Rick Ehrenberg there & we have been friends ever since. Rick had his F-8 69 RR there & first we took a blast down the nearby highway in my Charger, then Rick took me for a blast in the RR. The early Mopar Nats at Chelsea proving grounds were the best. We took "track tours" around most of the huge complex, including the large high-banked oval. Hell that track was over 3 miles long. We were taken in smallish groups of cars - maybe 30 cars, & everybody had to follow a pace van driven by a Chrysler employee. We were not supposed to exceed 40 MPH or something like that - yeah right. By the time me & some buddies in Superbirds got on the track, we couldn't even see the pace van. It was game-on - I know we were going around 135 on the back straight. Chrysler figgered-out after a couple of years the potential for bad things happening & their liability, so they wisely pulled the plug on hosting this event! It sure was fun while it lasted though. Then there were the shows at the Dodge dealer in Columbus every summer back in the early-mid 80's. That was a very good little show too. First time I went there, Paul Suloff was there with the triple-red 70 Hemicuda convertible. That car was absolutely stunning. I'll post some pics when I get back to my desktop on Friday. I was also at the NEHOA show in York, PA. I believe in 1982 or 1983 with a buddy from Toledo.

you mentioned the NEHOA, and that jogged my old mind back to a "cruise" they had that passed through brookville, pa. back in the late 70's. they stayed at the local holiday inn, and that evening and night, my brother and i attended their "show". so i guess that would qualify for the first all mopar event i [and my brother] attended.

My first all-Mopar show was the first Mopar Nats - Chelsea, MI. I believe this was 1981. Same. The club I was a member of was the host/sponsor for the that meet. I volunteered to work a gate. Those of us "working" went up the day before for an orientation of sorts and was given a ride on the big track by the site engineer/manager in a full-sized van. We're on the straight accelerating and he is spending half the time looking back at us talking. We're coming up to the first bank at about 90 mph and he's still jabbering away, and my butt is starting to pucker. At 90 mph, that bank looks like a 90° left hand turn that we'd never navigate at 90 mph. We hit that thing and you could feel the force shoving you into the seat. He's still looking back and jabbering. Then he says, you guys look a little nervous, and the passenger in the front seats says yep. The driver says no big deal, "watch", and he lets go of the steering wheel. We were about 1/2 way up into the top lane when he did that.

Debbie and Allen Clark divorced several years ago and the Bee was sold. Tom James bought it ( general mgr of the former Joe Kidd Dodge ,,,dealership is now closed btw ) I heard a rumor a couple years ago he has since sold it . As far as my 1st All Mopar show I think it was the 1st Mopar Nats in Chelsea MI. I'd been to a few local shows and even a trip to the Car Craft Street Machine Nats the prior year I think in Indy

Does Rick speak with a New York accent? Of course!! I'll tell you, if you've never met him, he is a REAL CHARACTER! I wish he was my neighbor - we'd be doing stuff together all the time. As Don Cherry would say, he's a "real beauty." OMG he can get me laughing........

Mopar Mania - Lockport, Illinois - held on the grounds of someone’s farm. This show I believe was the predecessor to the Chicagoland Mopar Connection show held in Oakbrook Terrace and then later held at the Chrysler plant in Belvedere, IL. Just by luck someone saw a Facebook post about my TA being at the Mopar Nats in 1984 in Indy. The guy was nice enough to send me pics of my car at Mopar Mania; probably around 85’or 86’. Long before I owned it. Pretty cool!!
