Love that movie. The scene in the bar where Julie Hagerty and Robert Hays are dancing. She throws him into the audience. You can see Robert Hays in the background as the stunt double lands...just waiting to jump back into the scene.

My cousin and I took two girls from my church to see it...a few scenes were a bit uncomfortable, to say the least. What struck me was the rating of the movie. The night before my cousin and I went and saw The Blues Brothers, which was rated "R". A little gratuitous violence and some language, but otherwise pretty clean. Then we go see the "PG" rated Airplane...Still not sure about that...

Airplane is one of my favorite comedies ever. The scene where Julie Hagerty is re-inflating the auto-pilot and Leslie Neilsen walks in was hilarious. When it came out, I and a couple of my buddies went and saw it at one theater and then drove over to another theater right after and saw Caddyshack. We had a lot of laughs that night. laugh2

I thought the story started with the Dinosaurs?

Yes, a true classic up

Reality check, that half the population is smarter then 50% of the people and it's a constantly contested fact.

The line where Peter Graves says to Joey, "Have you ever been in a cockpit before?" was originally a lot more "adult", according to an article I saw about the Airplane writers.
Let's just say it starts with, "Have you ever seen a grown man's..." whistling

I was at Rehoboth Beach with two other families. The older kids and adults were going to watch [iSaturday Night Fever][/i] but for us adolescents, it was either Herbie Goes Bananas or this other movie called Airplane!. Since my sister and I had already seen the former, we ended up seeing the latter.

My life was changed forever. Liked it so much that for my birthday in 3rd grade, the party was at the theater watching Airplane!.

Kareem was getting mad in this scene, the kid was actually scared of him.
