I have a 63 Dodge Polara convertible. Does anyone know if the vent window assembly from a hardtop car of that year will interchange? Does anyone out there have a convertible sitting next to a hardtop in their garage that could give it a quick once over? My chrome is pitted bad and would like to just swap it with better stuff. A hardtop would expand the possibilities.
Thanks

I can only speak to 64-65 cars. Hardtop and vert are the same. 2 dr. Post and 4 dr. Post/Hdtp are the same. There is a difference in the frame itself and how it mounts inside the door. The difference isn't visible unless you pull the door panel. So more than likely you'll be OK trying to use a hardtop vent assembly on a convertible.

The angle of the windsheild from 63 to 64 was changed. The 64's were stood up straighter.Something else to consider.

Correct. I was vague in my post. The OP should be fine using a '62-'63 hardtop window assembly on a '62-'63 convertible car and vice versa. Neither of the '64-'65 assemblies will work on a '62-'63 car.

Thanks for the information. The reason I ask is that there are some on ebay right now that the seller does not know if from a hardtop or sedan. But definitely from a 63. There is a picture of it in his ad. I drove over last night where the Conv is stored and the picture is different from what I have. The tops on mine run flat for about 3 inches. The ones on ebay go up to a point. So I think the ebay ones may be from a 64 or later. Whatever they are I decided they are not close enough to bid on.

'62-'63 sedans come to a point, and I'm pretty sure the same goes for HT/Conv.
My '64 sedan flattens out on top. As noted, the cowl area changed for the '64s and the A-pillars are more vertical.
I'm pretty sure that a HT or Conv would have a chromed frame in front of the vent glass, where the sedan vent windows use the upper door frame to locate.
