In 2008 i had my 440-1 heads reworked from 2.25/1.81 valves to 2.300/1.780 size to try and increase flow some. The first pic/graph shows original porting and 2.25 intakes -red dot numbers from thier bench. The blue dots are from the 2nd shop where i had the valve work done. The final pictures are flow numbers from three ports. after freshen up and flow test at 3rd shop. Same valves and port work - 2.300/1.780 combo.

Those ex ports make a huge jump from .700-.800.
On non-cnc ported -1 heads, the floor on #1/#8 has the most material to work with, so it “usually” ends up as the best one on the head.
Which cylinder is the one you had done first?
No mention of a flow tube on the ex, so I assume there wasn’t one used.

Not sure on which cylinders were tested. But i have three different readings from two heads. The three port average is; .100. 78 .200. 154 .300. 229 .400. 285 .500. 326 .600. 348 .700. 368 .800. 383 .900 one cyl test 391 I also checked lift every 5 degrees at the lifters to see just how much duration there is at each .100 increment of VALVE lift. Computed to at the valve AFTER lash At the valve lift. duration. Cfm
.100. 270* 78cfm .200. 238* 154cfm .300. 210* 229cfm .400. 184* 285cfm .500. 160* 326cfm .600. 134* 348cfm .700. 102* 368cfm .800. 59* 383cfm .840. 40* ?386cfm? Guestimate The lash ramps on this cam take 50 degrees to reach zero lash. From .000 lifter lift starting point to .000 lifter lift closing point is 450 degrees. No wonder i was told to be sure and set lash carefully. Still waiting on new intake rockers from Jesel. I am supposed to see them in a little over a week.

If you’re curious....... you could try measuring that duration@lift, @ the valve with the full spring load, with lash...... and see how those numbers really look when everything is flexing.

I figure a lot of valvetrain compression on the starting side of the ramps at high rpm. .020 maybe, at max acceleration of the valve? Then momentum will probably lessen that at mid/upper lift to Zero. Then the closing side will see something similar. I am going to google spintron testing and see what pops up.
