I'm not clear what your horse power is and the intended use of your truck but it would seem you're going to be "chasing your tail" if you put a beefier clutch. Will the transmission take the pounding? Just curious too, who Dan Smith is.

I'd give some thought to a dual disc clutch like the dirt track cars use. Probably wouldn't work well with hauling a load, but they work pretty well with putting power down. I'd also have some concerns about the quality of the after market pressure plate in the kit your using, wouldn't think it should give up very easily, but then we really don't know what kind of power you are really putting down. A real performance clutch kit may solve your issues.
The factory equipped hydraulic clutch set up shouldn't be a limiting factor, it should be just as tough as a mechanical linkage is. Gene
