We have a local farm that sells fresh frozen black angus beef and pork. Stuff is super good and cheap too. $3.50 a pound as it hangs. They butcher it and package it for that too. I heard a couple weeks ago that Publix supermarket in FL was restricting how much you could buy then. Probably even worse now.

Deer hunters don't need to worry about this, or should I say successful deer hunters don't need to worry. My freezer is full of venison (speed beef).
I love the smell of Deer guts in the morning, it smells like... VICTORY!

Or don't and save on toilet paper.
Reality check, that half the population is smarter then 50% of the people and it's a constantly contested fact.

We bought a side of beef in late February. I would like to buy some pork, because it is nice not having to look for meat in the store. I could handle going in just to buy chicken.

Not saying there isn’t SOME TRUTH to this but ..... THIS scare could go the way of the run on the TP ! And it will, and the media will fuel the frenzy even more....

No shortage of live beef here, but the Pheasants in my back lawn are becoming a noise pest but I hear they taste good but id need at least two for a meal the way they look. Dont need to shoot turkeys here just slow to about 20mph and you can punt one while on the drive to the store then gather it up.
I did do a flip around to see what was fresh in the ditch yesterday, it wasnt fresh, a bloated coon, thought it was a odd looking dog for my reson to turn around and look.

I went to Costco yesterday and they had been hit pretty hard. They had plenty of pork but were low on beef and totally out of chicken.

Well I just finished stocking the freezer with about 170 pounds of meat and I should be stocked up for a while. Got 30 pounds of bulk pork sausage to season up tomorrow. I love my small town old fashioned meat market they have 16 different kinds of bacon in the case and you start drooling when you slide the door open. Gus

Prices are going up and some things are a little harder to find but it's mostly all there. If there's a real shortage and/or the price gets TOO high, I'll just eat less beef/pork/chicken...probably better for me anyway. It'll all bounce back eventually. I just hope it doesn't kill off the small farmer/rancher.

I just seen tyson whole fryers at $11 per and 80/20 ground beef 6.10 per pound, but it looks like the Mexicans skate again, there bulk 25 pound bags of freezer burnt leg quarters is still $25. Yes our tiny lil store has a lesser quality meat section that some go nuts on. But thye do have good cookies and cakes, still got the bad stuff that made twinkies good in them.

Me and my friends bought 28 #300 lb hogs the other day, between buying and the expense of bringing them back here we were $150 a piece in to them. My 3 freezers is stuffed with ground pork and some big roasts, gonna smoke a big shoulder for about 16 hours tomorrow. I also have some left over deer and elk roasts so we are good at least till hunting season is over this fall.

I live in a small town(about 2000) relatively rural. The farmer on the outskirts of town has plenty of meat available.....might not be the cheapest but it's all grown on the farm. Local butcher a couple towns over is swamped with business and advertising a TON of different meat packages.Yet I go into the local super market and the shelves are thin and there's limits on how much you can buy. I don't think there's a meat shortage....more like a shortage of people to process the meat. Look around for a local farmer/butcher...they'll be glad to help out!(plus you'll get better meat)

A friend of a friend had to butcher a couple cows, so we just got a rear quarter (182lbs) for $3.85/lb cut and wrapped. I think we'll be set for a while now
