You could not buy and restore those vehicles for what they are selling for today.
I am not rich...but I get off my ass everyday to make sure I am not broke!
Can we get the Mexican cartels to help us with our supply chain issues? They don't seem to have any trouble getting stuff from one place to another.

You could not buy and restore those vehicles for what they are selling for today. That’s a big time understatement! .... I’m no restro guy but some of that stuff couldn’t be duplicated for 4 to 5 times what they’re bringing !

Pro street stuff isn't a big draw any longer...restomod stuff with updated power trains and creature comforts has already taken over... Quit spending my inheritance... That and learn how to take a pic with your new fancy phone...just more money I won't be getting...

Pro street stuff isn't a big draw any longer...restomod stuff with updated power trains and creature comforts has already taken over... Yeah that's always the problem with customized stuff vs. restored stock cars. Fads and trends change, and yesterday's cutting edge build is tomorrow's dated looking, undervalued money pit. Custom is great if you are going to keep it forever, but everyone's taste is different and if you want to sell it not all buyers will like your personal style...

I was pretty surprised that '70 B5 GTX only went to 45K (IIRC) but there wasn't much info given on it.
It's a 440 4bbl auto car. I think it was overpriced at 45k.

^^^ IF it was top-shelf, I might respectfully disagree, though point taken on being an AT car... If some areas aren't correct, or there are problems requiring significant $$ outlay to correct, maybe 30-35 is all the money. Depends on #s, quality of restoration, etc. That's kind of my point, not enough info to determine. Another thing when looking at auction prices is the 10% added to hammer price for the auction house. So, 45 plus another 4.5 and you're at least nudging top dollar for that combo, even considering how popular B5 is. And at 50 for the GTS + 5, that's 55, which is strong for a Dart, though Rhinodart's certainly more of an expert on Darts than I am. Ultimately, auction sales are a dartboard #, subject to buyer knowledge, actual condition, and influence by either party-time or weenie-contest

hi , I know it's not a mopar , but the real hero in Bullitt was the 68 charger . the 2nd hero was the bullitt mustang . when is that thing going across the block ? what's your guess it's going to sell for ? Agreed ... I myself don’t understand the HUGE interest in the Mustang. Some ? Yes ... but THE STAR of the auction?? HUGE interest? Most likely because Steve McQueen's butt was in that drivers seat for a moment in history, and the fact that the car is a celluloid hero.....

Bullitt Mustang......I'm thinking 7 Million For some reason I doubt it will go that high. BUT I could be wrong I guess The #43 Petty Bird didnt break the 4mil mark. And to me that would be a pretty good comparison

That boss 429 was nice but the Bullitt is a iconic movie car I wonder Chad McQueen will come out from nowhere and try and buy it!

Man I have lusted for the silver 71 hemi 4 spd road runner...but at the end of bidding/bid goes on what the heck was wrong the hood? Looked like it flush closed on passenger side and passenger front but driver side and toward front was really raised/bowed, like something was under the hood in the battery area and they slammed the hood closed...hope it didn’t damage much😳

Mustang GT Bullitt -- $3,400,000. Nice fixer upper! I figured it would go higher than that until I saw it in person at the Somerset Cruise. Cars had a rough life, still pretty a car but rust and dents in several places.

What I find funny is the car in the auction does not match the car in the famous chase scene. There are physical differences in the damage and even the exhaust on the car Steve McQueen was driving and what was sold at the auction.

A lot of people speculated that the poor sales results at Monterey where the beginning of a downward trend. Not! I think pricing at Mecum Kissimmee was very strong. A lot of ho-hum mustangs going for huge money.
Regarding fees to the seller, I bet the owner of the bullitt mustang didn't pay a dime. The auctioneers will waive the fees to get a car like that in there because it is such a big draw.

There were 2 mustangs both 390 4spds with sequential serial numbers.1 was the hero close up car the one Steve's seen in close-ups and overshooting a right turn and smoking the tires and speeding off.The other was a stunt car doing the jumps on the streets of San Fransisco. The stunt car was scrapped after filming. After fiiming was finished the Bullitt mustang went to a employee of Warner brothers hence WB sticker in passenger side of front window below Njinspection sticker. The sold to a detective, then sold to the current owners father.
