I was wanting to use a Crossram intake on my Allstate. I had an Edelbrock Rat Roaster Xram on it during mock up and it fit. Due to engine set back it has to fit under the cowel panel.
Recently I purchased the new MP manifold and when I test fitted it yesterday it is too tall.
My question is. Is the original Crossram any shorter than the new MP unit?

The original crossrams ARE shorter than the MP piece.

I found out the hard way that the MP unit was taller...

I will dig thru my notes to be sure... But I think the MP is 1/4 (or maybe 3/8 taller)

A&A transmission sells the repro's.

Hmmmm........ I think I need 1/2" or more. One advantage to the original intake is I wouldn't have to remove the top to unbolt the intake.
I have been looking at A&A site for a while. I will have to start another job to get the parts !!!

Well, I just studied the picture of the manifold on the website. I wouldn't be able to access the rear mounting bolts, as they would be under the cowel.
Oh well, it looks like I can't use it without major mods to the cowel.
