well there is no doubt that Frank Pellegrini's Dearborn Thunder is the fastest NSS car on the planet as we speak, 8.41 with a 4 speed! this year it will have a 5 speed.
Bill Asumara (sp.) has the dyno don wagon and that thing has been like 8.64 in nss trim.
Paul Habura prolly has the fastest NSS mopar. the car went 8.50's with a tunnel ram. but has been 8.80's with the crossram.
the asphalt elephant has been 8.90's with a crossram.
the fire and faith wagon has been 8.90's
larry quinns pontiac has been 8.80's with a stick!
there has been a few ex-pro nostalgia cars converted to NSS racing into the 8's (old reliable 2)
Tat'r wedge has been 9.20's with the crossram.
Gary Jacob has been 9.0's in that beautiful 63!
BK wants to have the fastest lol but has only been 9.40
cant really think of anymore off the top of my head. but there are some fast NSS cars out there. but 422 motorsports take the cake for sure.
Chris your car runs real good for what it is. Our car needs to go on a serious diet to be even close to these numbers, prolly would go 8's in the 63... but not as cool.
Anyways it will be a good year for NSS thats for sure!

and hw many of these cars that are going in the 8's are tube chassis?
i trying to figure out how many are true NSS cars.

Im bad with names, but i seem to remember a white 64 plymouth hemi car, guys were from canada if i recall that was fast.

No none of these cars are tube chassis. Each and every one of these cars will pass the NMCA National NSS rules. All of them are foot braked running on 10.5's. no trans brakes or anything. Im not 100 percent sure about the rear suspension but i do know all of the mopars I listed are ladder bar cars. They are legit! All are true NSS cars
Hemidart68 - the car you are talking about is the white 64 done by Karbelt customs in Canada. It has a FHO hemi and runs 8.60's. But that is not an NSS car it has a transbrake and a 4-link. It runs the cc events hemi class, whick your car would fit very well in
And when I say crossram I mean the 440-25 indy crossram. most of them are inline yes.

Fountain of Youth is owned by Paul Adams. He still has the car but currently runs a '64 Fairlane in SS/B and hold the NHRA record.
Booze Brothers are still racing, Charlie runs NMRA Hot Street and Brian runs a late model at Hagerstown Speedway. They still have both Galaxies.
Dick McKenzie(sp?) still has the Ol'Reliable and runs with the RAM series and some NSS stuff.
Pat Burke ran a great '66 Fairlane called Red Label. He has sold that car and it now runs on the street. He is partners in an outlaw 10.5 Shelby Mustang.
P/N was my favorite NSCA class of all time. I even ran the class a couple of times but couldn't compete with the big dogs back then....

yea pro/nostalgia was prolly the one class i liked better than NSS. What a cool class, very fun to watch. I wish they still had the NSCA had a lot of fun at those races.

so the next question is these fast 8 second cars do they still retain stock k frame and stock steering box or any of them running alterkation racks in them.
also are these guys running 2 dominators or are they running the correct carbs and have 10.5 slicks.
i think this may drop the number of actual 8 second cars off the list.
