Does someone reproduce these? If so and if there is more than one company offering reproductions, who makes the best?

There is no best reproduction. CA332V is the best, watch out for reboxing.

Who carries those? A google search shows none are in stock anywhere.

Someone just bought a repro from Dave at Roseville. You can contact them.

I bought one a few years ago from someone advertising here on Moparts that was reproducing a high quality filter. Seems like company was called NS1 or something. They are better than the overseas units that have wavy inconsistent flash. He also had correct round filters but I cant find the source now. Maybe someone else has the connection

These repros your referencing where remade/reissued by one of the original FRAM filter engineers associated with these back in the day, unfortunately they are no longer available, try Tommy the Chryco, or Rosevillemoparts for sixpack filters

The pic shows it round, true, but are really round? It could be just referential! Wouldn't be the first time I see this.

If so, then it's a mistake by Rockauto on description smirk

K&N is a good filter but I would prefer to keep the stock look.

Quite clearly states UP TO 30% off in the banner on the top of the sales page. If you actually go to the info page and read the details it states

Yeah, yeah. I read all that stuff. I simply put that there to let other members know what they will pay before they get there.

It's my understanding, when the reproductions came out, some years back, that one run of them were manufactured.
Then all the aftermarket sellers, vendors, bought them up.
Now those from that production run, are being sold off, and becoming obsolete, hard to come by all over again.
