I need help with my newly acquired 1970 U-code Cuda. The ignition wiring had been spliced into by the previous owner. I have looked at the online wiring diagrams and I now believe that I know how to put things back to original. But I would like for someone to confirm that I am correct with the connections (See the attached photo) : The wire that I marked as "D" should connect to wire "C". These 2 will complete the connection between the points in the distributor with the negative side of the coil. I will replace these 2 with a single new lead. The wire marked as "B" will need to connect to the negative side of the coil also. I believe this wire leads back through the harness to the tach in the rallye dash. The wire marked as "A" goes to the idle solenoid which is missing from the carburetor. The connector appears to be original, but I am unsure of what the male connector looks like. I have searched the web for pictures of 440 engine details, but have been unsuccessful in finding closeups of the right side. I would like to see what type of terminations at the coil are used, and also the routing of the leads.

You are correct. The wire coming out of the distributor goes to the neg on the coil. If the b wire is gray then it would be tach going to neg coil.
Hope this helps. You may want to replace with a M&H wire harness those wire are 45 year old
Hope this helps

Be a lot easier and look better to replace the harness for points, or get a new one for Elect ignition if you plan on installing one.

That 'B' lead appears to be shot. It is brittle and the splice is close enough to the bundle so that the bundle will need to be opened. The coil wire terminals are unique. You will probably either need to buy a new harness assembly or, as I do, try to find an old Dodge car or truck in a self service salvage yard and get the wiring harness from it and splice the last foot or two from it on your harness and re-wrap it. You can get the tape that doesn't have the glue on it on Ebay.

Master, again and still

My suggestion would be to replace the harness also. I would also suggest to order the harness from Year One. They have an exclusive contract with M&H wiring. Their harness are the most accurate in most cases.

Thanks for everyone's help. According to the previous owner, the car was last run in 2013. I think I will patch the leads for now while I prep the engine for its initial cranking. Once I get it running, I will buy the M&H harness. I just bought their battery cables (both positive and negative) as the originals have frayed jackets and the copper underneath is full of green corrosion. By the way, even though M&H has an exclusive contract with YearOne on the Mopar engine harnesses, the same does not apply to M&H battery cables. You can buy them direct from M&H, as I did.

Also Jamie at Mega Parts can sell you M&H harnesses. Better service and cheaper shipping. Check him out first.
