From all of the press releases etc I read on it AB did not really give a reason why just said that's it we're done. What is intersting is that there are now no beer sponsered cars or tobacco cars ( barring the US Smokeless) in the pro ranks and there are like ten teams run by ENRGY DRINKS which is so weird compared to ten years ago. Will be interesting to see if KBR racing is running next year. Brando better step it up BIG time this season which might be tough running on Canadian Horsepower. Did Ok last week though.

Looks like Kahne's team will be looking in the near future for a sponsor??

I've always thought it was ironic that Bud was on the hood and Allstate Insurance was on the quarter panels.

I figured I would complain to Budweiser directly this was their response.

Dear Jesse,

Thank you for watching the Budweiser Top Fuel Dragster over the years, and for getting in touch to share your thoughts. We are always glad to hear from friends of Budweiser Racing.

You mentioned that you were disappointed when Anheuser-Busch announced the 2009 season will be Budweiser’s last as official beer sponsor of the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) and as primary sponsor of Kenny Bernstein Racing and the Budweiser Top Fuel dragster.

The voice of fans like you is always important as we consider the future of our sports marketing. We are sharing your thoughts with the Budweiser team. For our part, we have enjoyed a great run with both Kenny Bernstein Racing and the NHRA. They have been great partners and together we have grown the sport together for many years.

Nothing changes what our relationship with KBR and the NHRA has meant to us. We are proud of our thirty year sponsorship in motorsports. And, we hope that all drag racing fans will ultimately appreciate everything Budweiser has done for the sport over three decades – sentiments both Kenny and the NHRA have expressed to us privately.

Beyond that, Budweiser and sports go hand-in-hand. Sports and sports fans like you will always be a part of our marketing, and we will continue to brew the same great Budweiser.

Again, Jesse, thank you for writing and for voicing your thoughts on the NHRA and Kenny Bernstein Racing.

I agree it is a total BS fill in the blanks letter that says nothing, but I don't like the idea of a sponsor bailing on a sport I care about and so I did my thing and told them no drag racing no beer dollars from me. Not sure how many of these they get but it's better than doing nothing.

Beer sales are up but individual company profits are down due to the sheer number of beers a single brand has to package, market and distribute....since every breer wants to be like Baskin-robbins (31 flavors) something's got to give.

Hello,

The letter says a he11 of a lot. Told you outright that they have been a sponser for decades and that KBR, NHRA and Bud was proud of their success and relationship. Letter said many other very important things. Read it again without being selfish. How many companies in history have done anything like this. I am dam proud to of been mostly on the receiving end of a great relationship. Just because Bud did not completely reconsider and do an about face for you, you are ready to cut them down. I too HATE the decision they have made. I take it somewhat personal also. I also cannot let my greed get the best of me. Bud has done one he11 of a job for decades and I am dam proud to of been around for each one. Kinda like what we all try and teach our kids. Be happy with what you have.

Thanks for the decades Budweiser!

Damon
