Got Dads 69 charger back, well he put some conversion kit on the front from a newer cordoba, or something cause the calipers are not where near correct, and the brake hoses make a nasty 180 degree bend and hit the front shocks.

does anyone know from a casting number if I have the correct spindles to put the correct 69 front brakes on it?

is 69-70 C body stuff the same?

Post some pictures of the spindles, calipers, that you have.
Factory 66-69 B body disc brakes are BENDIX 4 piston calipers.
NO, C body brakes are NOT the same.
69, 70, C body would be Kelsey Hayes single piston disc brakes.
Totally different manufactures and designs.

Post a picture if you can. The late model brakes can be made to work but you'll need the correct caliper and hose combination. Doctor Diff can set you up with what you need if you don't want to do the leg work yourself.

Typically the best setup is to have the calipers rear hung then use late model FMJ calipers which were designed to be rear hung and then use a custom hose that has the correct ends and the correct length.

Yes, that's true.
The Imperial carried over the 4 piston caliper brakes to the 1969 model year.
But The Imperial brakes are BUDD disc brakes.
Still totally different from the B body BENDIX brakes.

Don't think the Imperial line of cars, was ever designated as a "C" body, anyway.

Calipers should be in the front of the spindle..if mounted in the rear, the hose will be bent..

Calipers need to be rear hung on the OP car to clear the anti-sway bar. The FMJ calipers are designed to be rear hung so they'll work just fine.

We would like to put the correct 4 piston stuff on the car, if anyone has the kit, spindles, and brackets, i would be interested. ill buy new calipers.

The correct Bendix stuff is super hard to find. Ram Man is making a one piece rotor to replace the original two piece and Hoffman has reproduced a bracket or two. I'm not aware of any source for the calipers though. Wheel bearings wouldn't be an issue but I'm not sure about the inner seal. I think Inline Tube makes the cross over brake line and I'm sure you can buy the correct hoses. Not sure about the pads.

If you're serious about using the original Bendex setup then you should start a thread in the Restoration area. Oh, and check the balance in your savings account too!

NAPA on line sells a rebuilt caliper. I think after talking with a few companies today im going to do a A body swap kit...

So who makes a repopped single piece rotor for 66-69 Bendix? I have only see the rotor that requires and original hub to mate too it.

Looks like you already have the late model brakes on there so no point in doing an A body swap. You just need to change the calipers so the hose comes out the bottom instead of the top. Whoever did that swap used the wrong calipers for that application. You need the late model FMJ calipers and then new hoses. I think I already told you this in a previous post.
