Don't post much but I have a build thread over on FABO. https://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/thr...-thread.326897/I've have gotten some interest over there on a set of 18" wheels I had a friend make. So I thought I would pass on a little info for anyone interested. I talked to Mike today. He said if anyone wants a set, he'll definitely make em. As far as I know it's the only option for aluminum Chrysler steel wheels in anysize you want. Mine are 18x9 and 18x11. Mike's been making wheels a long time and does an incredible job. Tell him you got his info from Keith. Anyway contact: Mike Curtis curtisspeedwheels@gmail.com https://mikecurtisdesign.com/

ooohps. I guess I read too fast out of excitement. I gather that Mike has only 18" halo jigs thus dictating only 18" wheels.
Also, they may be, again MAY BE cut as billet wheels and that COULD indicate a heavy or heavier wheel compared to a real steel wheel. I could be wrong.

Should be 17, 18, 19, 20" in whatever width. They are 2 piece wheels with a forged center. I'll post more pics tonight. They accept 9" dog dish caps also. I believe everything else available is a Ford/Chevy 11" center. These are the only true Chrysler modeled wheel. I actually gave him a stock steel wheel.

Amen to that, but I hate to even find out the prices!!!
Joe I assume at least $1000 per wheel but I don't know for sure. Anyone have a quote they are willing to share?

The allure for me at least is; can and will they be as light as a forged/stamped aluminum wheels like say, a centerline? I'm sure everyone if not most here know why I am asking. This is exciting news. I've been asking for this very same item for several years now and most said, impossible or no interest. I think it is for a niche market, but never the less, if it can be made and some what affordable, there will be a decent interest or perhaps and hopefully a craze.
Just think what the F.A.S.T class gang are thinking now, if some have not already secretly had some made. I'd also get a set for my daily driver that is at most, 3900 Lbs dry Not sure on weight. Give me till this weekend, I'll pull one and weigh it. Don't think they will work for FAST. Fast must be oem material and no wider than 6". He does gave wheels that are currently in top fuel and funny car. So if you need something like that it's also available.

Sheeee. If I was running in F.A.S.T, I'd have a pair in the 6" range made out of aluminum some how. Every ounce counts in that class.

F.A.S.T just has to look OEM, not be material correct. I have heard of one or two of the GM's in the class of spinning suspect light alloy wheels.
Pure Stock and Factory/ stock may be another story.
My current STEEL looking wheels consist of a simple center line auto drag wheel with a special spun hubcap over the rivets. I made these back in the 90's. At close scrutiny, they don't look as stock as your boys wheels, but come mighty close enough to have fooled even the most savviest of Mopar guys out on the field and most other makes. I just saw this. I'm by no means savey on fast rules but: "14.01 Wheels must be correct*, including correct* diameter, width and material. Note: Width may be upgraded to a maximum of 6”, if the correct* wheel is narrower than that. Reproduction wheels OK. 14.02 All 4 wheels and tires must be same size. Exception: Mopar TA Challenger came from factory with G-60’s on rear and F-60’s on front."

Now come to think of it, you may have me sitting corrected. Been in the arts too long. LOL I'm curious because some of those F.A.S.T cats would nip at this if they could pull it off. I know I would at least till I got called to the stripper. I don't wanna blow some people's cover, but there may be some rather tricked out brake and wheel elements lurking in that cla$$ that are for sure not material correct. Other items as well. I love the immense and concerted effort to hide things purchased, invented, or hogged out in plain site.
On this same note, my friend has already hinted that he would like a set for his 62' Savvy Savoy. 15" of course. Keep us posted on weights and size/backspacing because I am for sure interested in this new product and how this pans out. Whatever diameter, width, backspace or offset anyone needs. Just get ahold of Mike. He'll send you a spec sheet on what he needs for measurements and go from there.

i sure hope this works out for ya. i too, thought at first, these were only 17" and up, but after looking at the pics, they sure looked like some were 15". mike's wheels are known far and wide for their quality, and are not cheap, but i'll bet he can do a limited run of 15's and find out they will sell quick. as soon as i read the title of this thread, you were the first guy i thought of ! and a GREAT article in the new edition of mopar action mag ! congrats !

bill at RMS has a set of steel looking alumn wheels in his blue dart. his aren't machined for the dog dish but says the guy can easily do that if you wanted.. thought they were 300-400 a wheel but not 100% sure on that.. pretty sure they weren't 3500 a set. his are 18"
can see it on the lift in the back round...

Bills are circle racing wheels and use 11" ford/Chevy cap.

Aluminum wheels that look like steel or a mix of aluminum and steel in the same wheel ? The OP still has not answered the question.

For years I've been wondering why no-one (wheel companies) make a true aluminium copy of an original factory steel wheel, especially with their popularity.
And now finally someone with the tools has stepped up to the plate. Kudo's! The wheels still a bit 'too domy' to me which is a quick give-away they are no true 'steelies', but they are close.
Although with close to a Grand per wheel I doubt he will have to work overtime because of this. It's funny you say to domy. In the renderings I thought they looked to squared off and requested more curvature. But with 'brembos' up front that's all he could do. I also opted for the details inside the centers by the lugs. We were originally going to leave them flat.

Why so much backspace on the front wheels? I'm running a 275mm tire up front and that dictates the backspace. Makes the wheel 18x9 with 6.38" of backspace and +35mm offset. This allows clearance with my front suspension specifics.

Confused: Stock 15x5.5" is 21.0 lb 15x7" is 24.2 lb 18x7.5 police charger steel 30.8 lbs.
Are these the weights to those wheels in stock form or the weights to aluminum versions Mike has already made? Uh stock, as in original.
