I was looking into building a blow through carb for my son and have seen how to modify the carb for a boost reference power valve which makes the power valve work by boost and not vacuum. But I cant find anywhere to get the boost reference power valve so I was wondering if anyone knows where to get one ? Thanks, Ron

There used to be artlicles out there on how to make one out of a regular power valve. I know a friend of mine and I converted a carb for boost and did not use a boost referenced PV. The car had great drive ability at low throttle, and it ran good wide open. Everything in between was horrible lol. I am sure a boost reference PV would have taken care of that.

It's better, but not EFI. You now have 2 A:F setting: NA and boost. It gives the same enrichment at the opening pressure of the PCV as the maximum boost - but obviously full boost requires more fuel since by definition a carburetor does not sense a change in air density, only in air speed. Some part of the fuel curve is compromised. For a race car the difference may not matter - the mains give NA mix and the PCV adds whatever you need for full boost. For a street car this is more difficult. What would be nice: a second boost-referenced PCV, even if it's an external circuit-in-a-box. A Snow or similar could inject race gas (to keep it legal) proportionate to boost, but $400... You can get closer if your ignition allows proportionate retard on boost, but I'm guessing that most blow-through are normal ignition.

I can't say how the CSU version works, but the one I have from Horsepowerinnovation is linear to boost. It's not just on/off based on boost.
It has a piston and spring which is overcome by increasing fuel pressure, a pair of transfer slots meter the fuel based on boost psi.
Works fairly well...its A LOT better then just a stock power valve setup. Dizuster would you mind if I could call you and talk to you about the type you use ? Or you can call me when you have time if you don't mind. If you don't get me just leave a message if you don't mind calling and if you do I understand. My phone # is 443-904-7898 or you could PM me your #. I tried to PM you but it said it full. Thanks , Ron
