I ran the 456 and 457 ones in my 63 Dodge.

They initially worked well but only lasted about a year before they completely relaxed and lost their arch. I suggest ordering something from Eaton Spring instead of the junk MP stuff.

May not be the direction you want to go, but I think you would be happy with CalTracs and Calvert mono Leaf springs.

Have you contacted Tri City Competition about their Launcher Drag racing springs? If not you should scope

I ran Cal-Tracs with the XHD springs....... I thought it worked quite well.

Much more consistent than the SS springs that were on it.

Your correct about that company, not the same. tsk Greg runs the facility, business, in SO CA and his Son runs the other one in Detroit, MI now.

Unless you find NOS SS springs that were made in Canada or the US, the springs out there now are nothing short of junk. Even the so called pro-stock springs that are distributed by reputable sources sagged after a year or so. At that point, you're better off with a HD truck spring.
Go with the launchers, made by Greg Luneak at Tri-city in California as I have and you'll never go back to the off shore crap supposedly called SS springs.

64 Dodge 9.80's @138 so far and it’s heavy at 3960 lbs. on Caltracs with the split mono leaf - 30 x 9 radial Hoosiers with a full interior, turn signals and a radio - completely street legal.

Dont waste your time with SS springs - caltracs are well worth the money

I use the 3400 lb SS springs I bought from Mancini. Yes the Cal Tracs are the best but I don't see me spending the $800 or more dollars for the setup. I don't think I would pick up any more then a tenth at best if I spent the $800 or more for the full Cal Trac setup. I like the SS springs on my street car and the SS springs are very consisdent on my car. Heck it ran 10.76 three passes in a row one day and that's on my 30 x 9 radial slicks. Cal Tracs are the best for sure if you want the most out of your car but myself I cant see spending $800 or more to pick up maybe a tenth on my street car. But if I was a full time racer I would definetly use the Cal Tracs. I also like how nice my car drives and rides on the street on the SS springs. Ron

P3690456 and 7 with the extended front hangers are the ones you want for a mid 60s b body application.

Unfortunately since time immemorial they've been marketed as "3400lb".
Please do yourself a favor and ignore that LOL.

The ones marketed as "3600lb" are really not for a B body at all.
They are for an E body, and the rear segment length is too short for B body applications.

SS springs seem to really be designed to work with specific body types. Any weight considerations are (strictly my humble opinion) red herrings applied by marketing folks from a very long time ago. When they applied the various weights, they took something that is actually very simple and made it unnecessarily complicated.

They're made in Mexico at the same spring plant that has made all the Dodge Ram leaf springs since like 1991 or whenever it was Chrysler pulled that business from their old spring plant in Canada.

Plenty of folks have had trouble with them, plenty of folks have had success...Ron's car is a great example of the latter....good luck.

Thanks for the info Zippy. I have the 456/7 springs on car now. The reason I want to replace is springs are sagging and my slicks rub sometimes. They are 18 years old never had a problem with them just starting to sag. I did run the cal trac set up one year they worked good but not enough to justify the extra money in my mind. So I sold that set up and put old SS springs back on. My track days are getting fewer every year.

I installed the 454/455 3800 SS springs on my Savoy about 5 years ago and they still have a nice arch to them. I had Cal-Tracs on the car before that and they sagged to a negative arch after about 30 passes and 2 years of street/strip use under a stick car.
