All,
Been out of bracket racing 20+ years as stated in other posts.
Had the battery in trunk but it was in a plastic marine box.
Who makes a good heavy duty mounting kit?
Pics would be very much appreciated!
Thanks!

Wally

Made mine out of 3/4" x.060" steel angle from Home Depot. Mounts the fuel pump as well. 6 3/8" bolts, 5 go through the frame rail.

Wow!!!
Awesome work DVW!
I don’t think I have the ability to fab anything up like that.
Looking to purchase a pre made setup so I can drill the holes before the car is painted.

Thanks!

I have a Moroso 74050 battery box kit that is new in the box that I'm not going to use. Shoot me a PM if you're interested.

Whatever you use, remember that the battery cannot be secured to a mount that is not considered part of the frame or properly secured to the frame. Minimum of 2 3/8" fasteners to secure the battery. Can't just stick a box in there with some screws, sit the battery in it and call it a day.

If the results don't match the theory, change the theory.

I use a marine battery box since I had one. And being a street car I did not want my battery to not be in a case or box. I don't have to worry about anything laying on the battery and getting acid on it since its a street car. I know the right rear is best but my cable was not long enough to reach the passenger side. So I just put it on the R/R side for now. Does not seem to be a problem as the car hooks fine. Ron
