You realize you just said it changes the phasing, which is the relationship of the rotor to the cap, not the rotor to the reluctor.

Agreed, yes it (vac adv) changes RP (rotor to cap) & not rotor to reluctor (that is fixed on the shaft). EDIT I reread my prior above long post & I had said "WOULD" & I meant to say "WOULD NOT" so I changed it to reflect what I intended to say.

when drilling the hole in the cap, use a "unibit" style step drill to the size hole you want/need. using a regular flute style of drill can catch and spall out the back side of the hole, or crack a chunk of the cap out. the step drill won't do this. just a helpful tip.
