it will shift RP cuz the tooth reaches the magnet sooner so when it fires the rotor is now at a different clocking.
You realize you just said it changes the phasing, which is the relationship of the rotor to the cap, not the rotor to the reluctor.

Agreed, yes it (vac adv) changes RP (rotor to cap) & not rotor to reluctor (that is fixed on the shaft). EDIT I reread my prior above long post & I had said "WOULD" & I meant to say "WOULD NOT" so I changed it to reflect what I intended to say.
