Wow, never would I have expected it to be so slanted towards the T/A. Learn something new every day!

I think the price gap between the T/A-AAR's and their respective 440-6 Challenger-'Cuda siblings has narrowed over the past 10-15 years.

Anyone else's opinion on 340-6 car values relative to 440-6 values??

1970 Challengers
2400 US total T/A Challengers, but only 989 with 4-speed (41%).
2035 US total 440+6 Challengers (1640 R/Ts & 296 R/T SEs & 99 R/T 'verts), but only 793 440+6 auto R/Ts (39%).

-T/A vs. R/T-
340+6 vs. 440+6 ~~~~ R/T
numbers vs. non-#s ---- T/A
4-spd vs.auto --------- T/A
3.91 vs. 4.10 ~~~~~~ even
EB5 vs. EV2 ~~~~~~~ even
resto vs. sitting ------- T/A
hood ------------------ T/A
spoiler ---------------- T/A

The T/A has too much high-performance eye-candy going for it,
the R/T would need some major factory options to catch up to the cool factor!
(sunroof, SHAKER, spoilers, louvers, etc.)

I own an AAR, actually three. Love the graphics of the Trams Am car and the hoods with scoops are cool. The T/A hood is the best looking hood on any Mopar out there, bar none. After helping a friend of mine work on his hemi cuda quite a bit, I can see why the shaker only lasted a couple of years. They are the biggest pain to work on you can imagine. Keep the T/A, they are way cool.

"but only 793 440+6 auto R/Ts (39%)." Did you mean 4 speed instead of auto? I would have thought they made less 4spd than autos.

But from what you wrote all else equal you think a 70 440-6 non shaker (very few shaker 70's) is worth more than a 340-6 T/A? A typical T/A to typical R/T with same trans, paint and no spoilers/louvers/etc on the R/T?

Why does this ^ not surprise me LOL!!

Thanks for not turning this into a T/A v R/T war.
I think I'll stay with my T/A, you guys are right [ & what was I thinkin?], NM and 4 spd is rare but fun!! I figured the 440-6 would be worth more in $$ and as a collector, more so if the Auto + Dana60 was correct?

Thanks for the input guys, sometimes you just need to be set straight!

cheers Dave

Keep the T/A because of numbers matching engine......if V car had #'s matching, I would put them about even.....with a very minor slant to the T/A still, because of the 4 speed...

KEEP IT!
