Since you can't buy off the shelf chamfered main bearings for a 383/400, are you guys doing them yourself, buying them from places like 440 source who offer them, or is your machine shop doing them for you?

If you do them yourself, is there a special jig/fixture?

If your buy them from someone, who are you getting them from?

How much is a machine shop charged to chamfer them?

I buy them from Hughes Engines. If you're not in a hurry they can send them out to be coated also.

Cant remember if i used clevite or king, but they were not chamfered. I put them in just to see and had no issues. Crank end play was .008". Used a molnar crank.

If you want coated, you might call calico, they stock alot ready to ship. Not sure about bb bearings though.
