Its always idling when it does this. next time i will shut it off and see what happens. this is what I posted about a while ago. I waited for summer blend and its definitely better but still does it. I found some non ethanol gas and it pretty much quit but it was only 89 octane. I actually just cut out the bottom of the scoop to see if I can get the heat out from under the hood better.

Put some type of plastic or wood spacer between the carb and the intake to help with the fuel boiling, especially if your 4 hole/tapered spacers are made out of aluminum.

I've been looking at them I just haven't pulled the trigger yet.
Just because you think it won't make it true. Horsepower is KING. To dispute this is stupid. C. Alston

One of my old used race cars came with a carb heat deflector made out of sheet of aluminum, the former owner, (9 second Phil) was in the U.S. Air Force at the time doing aircraft maintenance so he made it out I think around .073 to .095? sheet aluminum cut it out the square under the carb. to match the intake manifold and bent the front edge up about three inches in front of the front fuel bowl , he also drilled a hole in the driver side of the bent up lip and used it as the throttle return spring hole Lots of ways to skin the kitty
