Same as 383 Dart with longer down rod that is unique to am M-Code.

Hello all. Did the 69 M-code Darts get the same kickdown linkage as the 383 Dart GTS's did. Or did it get the kickdown that the 440 B-body cars had. There is a slight difference between the two kickdowns in design. Thanks for the help. Good question, but Rhinodart should know the right answer^^^^^^ I have what appears to be an all original M-cuda under the hood and maybe taking the vertical rod that goes down to the trans out for measurement/comparison this summer. I think i have a factory 383 rod to compare it to..........
I'm the CARETAKER of Weinstats '69 440 'cuda registry and have 104 of the 360 cars to date. 84 fastbacks/20 coupes. Always looking for new(REAL M-code) '69 440 'cudas to add to the registry so drop me a note if any are found or known. This isn't a publicly released registry. Thanks, Dave

So its exactly the same as the 383 Darts in every way, or its the same as the 383 darts but with a longer down rod then the 383's had? The reason I ask is because Laysons has a repo kickdown linkage that suppose to be for 383 and 440 A-body cars. But I'm not sure if its correct.

No confusion, the 440 A-Body down rod is longer because the 440 is 3/4" raised from the 383 block, that is why the 383 is a "B" block and the 440 is an "RB" (raised B) block. Everything else is the same. A&A Transmission in Indianapolis has the correct kickdown linkage, or at least used to.

So if i remove my 440 vertical rod, and repo it i can make $$$$$$ LOL Yes b-b-dave, I would buy one from you, LOL. So it looks like A&A Transmission and Layson's have pretty much the same set-up for sale. Its probably correct for 383 but not 100% accurate for 440 A-bodies. Next question. Is this longer kickdown down rod special to the 440 A-bodies only or did it come from something else, for instance a 440 C-body car?

If you remove your kick down linkage this summer, from your M-code Cuda can you maybe post a picture of the down-rod for me? I would like to see its shape and also post its measurement for me. I would very much appreciate it. Thanks.

Took this picture yesterday. Top if off a 69 M-Code Dart, bottom is off a 68 383 Dart. Forgot to take measurements, though it is obvious that the M-Code is longer and is adjustable.
