Anyone get the 1971 Dark Argent Gray center caps for the rallye's ? They look smoother than what I currently have on the car. How's the texture and color versus original? Thanks,

Yes the texture is to smooth, and they don't have what I call flakes of cooper in the paint either. Mostly Wheel Vintiques stuff is crap. For the trim rings I took a polished set, and brushed them myself, cause again theirs look like crap.

It makes no sense to me that Chrysler/FCA would approve/allow these poor replicas. It's like Y1, CIndustries that know darn well some of their parts are nowhere near original, yet they still sell them and don't hesitate for one second, when you call and return. It's a waste of so much time and aggravating.

They, and 99% of the other parts marketed are advertised as Chrysler repo parts. They should say in their ads these are half ass knock offs, then we wouldn't be as mad when we receive them and see they are junk, cause we know up front they are crap. They are not marketed as repro parts. NOTHING in their add indicated this.

They, and 99% of the other parts marketed are advertised as Chrysler repo parts. They should say in their ads these are half ass knock offs, then we wouldn't be as mad when we receive them and see they are junk, cause we know up front they are crap. Wheels Vintiques is not licensed nor endorsed by Chrysler, although their products are "proudly made in the USA"...not that it means anything nowadays I feel your angst in some of the reproductions on the market, regardless of their manufacturer/source/country of origin, esp when they carry the so called "licensed by Mopar" as "authentic reproductions", it leads one to believe this is a "quality part" comparable or superior to the original, the truth is it's often far from it Unlike Ford or GM who are actively involved in the reproduction cottage industry assisting mfg's with original parts/prints/molds/or original vendors... Mopar and their licensing divisions are just revenue agents with the only helping hand, being that in the pockets of the vendor/mfgs and you the end buyer, they basically "wing it" to "authenticate" or "research" a reproduction item, and like most agencies of this nature, it's often the result of having "all the wrong people in all the right places", making decisions" FYI, I've talked (they basically contacted me for a fleecing) to individuals in the Mopar licensing division, from attorneys to the individuals that "decide" how, when and why a part gets "approved", there was more emphasis/discussion on fees/terms/conditions than there was on how a part passes muster Although they claim to "evaluate" a part/parts for market, we all know how much junk is actually out there, there will always be the anal individual(s) that will quibble over the microscopic minutia of a part and will never be satisfied, regardless of how well it looks/fits... I'm talking about the stuff that no way in hell fits or even looks the part, and requires modification/alteration by the end user to be acceptable/functional, never mind the junk that's totally worthless from the get go... If you would like to discuss your disgust about actual Mopar licensed products, although it will fall on deaf ears... These individuals have basically said "their door is always open" for comments/discussions/etc for the items they license for Mopar/Mopar Authentic Restorations program Email: mopar@trilicensing.com Jim Bur Mike Rachuy Robert Horton all can be reached at 248-922-9678

It should say it looks somewhat like a Chrysler cap, but it fits like an original.

My car is far from an OEM platinum judged vehicle so I don't care about exactness. That said, the Wheel Vintiques sombreros fit dead on to stock rallye wheels. The color and texture isn't even in the same hemisphere as OEM. I had seen them at shows on really nice cars and it kinda wrecked the whole vibe. I bought a set, masked the chrome, wet sanded them and shot them with Duplicolor Textured Metallic. IMHO, the stuff looks very close to original. I went with the lighter color for my 1970 car. They sell three different levels of grey. The stuff has a very nice glitter and lays on great. I'm very satisfied and shot all 4 wheel caps with one can. https://duplicolor.com/product/textured-metallic-automotive-paint
I’m listening.

Finished wheel. FWIW, Wheel Vintiques powder coating is too dark too. I shot my wheels with UPOL Rallye Wheel Silver.
I’m listening.

Very nice BBBee, and look, no brown letters on your 15" TA's (yet). I picked up a can of Dark Argent from Roseville Moparts for my weekend project.
