Putting my old 547 engine together now that has had a hone and new bearings, just a few questions that I would like to be sure on.

Is 70lb right for ARP/Eagle 1.75 7/16 rod bolts ?

What should I torque the ARP head studs to with cometics and Ali Indy heads ?

I have just filled and drilled the Indy rocker oil feeds to 0.040 is this a little small ?

I have always sprayed my head gaskets with copper but see that a lot of you guys say you put them on as is dry. Is this right ?

There could be a few more Q's later if thats ok.

Thanks
AL

Al ,

on cometics I go dry , but at the oil drain/return at each end of valley I open the gasket a little and use a light skin of grey silicone between layers

70 ft lbs
I have just filled and drilled the Indy rocker oil feeds to 0.040 is this a little small ? If it is FULL TIME OILING (by one of a few means) then probably yes but that is a little small for my comfort for one bank...I would definitely do full time oiling at or near that size..but I'm a pushrod oiling guy.

I have always sprayed my head gaskets with copper but see that a lot of you guys say you put them on as is dry. Is this right ?I never have put them on dry copper coat is always s good for me along with the proper finish on both head and block

There could be a few more Q's later if thats ok.

Thanks
AL

I put mine on dry but Cometic specified a specific surface finish.

I think .040 is fine.

I torque my head studs at the spec on the box they came in. I forget the #

IIRC .040" is the smallest size that is not known to clog easily, .030" is too small.
