I wouldn't be happy if I spent that kind of money and was running mid 10s after all the 9.60 hype these things got when they were being built.

Saw one at Rockingham at the Mopar show earlier this year that was running 10.40s...not spinning and in really good air.

Props to the owner of the car in this post though. up Nice to see someone actually beating on it like it was meant to be instead of having a garage ornament to brag about.
Have a friend of mine looking to buy one now to do just that...park it and talk about how badass it is. He has the money though so...

I think it takes some experience and finesse to get them to run fast as advertised

Rons has gone 9.63. He’s been racing it since he bought it. Even has a vid driving it in the rain down the freeway. Checkout his FB page SRT Demon. Btw...... LOVE that green color!!!

FWIW the pompous ### that bought the one where I work had it put on the alignment rack so he could clean the underside.....

Most of the test n tuners going fast have made some mods and race at super tracks on great weather days. Experience comes into play too.

One thing that sticks out is most of the cars you see run on youtube have a note on the bottom that says that the transbrake and torque reserve weren't used, I think tractions the main problem. I'm guessing the 9.65 was mineshaft air, unheard of track prep and every doodad and gadet used.

I asked him if he was going to use it like it was meant to be used. He said all his cars get driven and used but he still takes very good care of them. Of the 3 that got shipped to Sioux Falls his will be used and enjoyed. Not sure how much seat time he had in the car prior or how much seat time he has at the track but like I told him a big thumbs up to using it and enjoying it. I know the Motor Market local car magazine will be doing a story on the car and his hemi dart too.

Those cars need to time out before they are allowed to go full power. The ecu is programmed to keep the power limited for it’s break in period.

You can't blame chrysler for the guys not running the number when they are not operating in the correct conditions and using the proper established method with the line lock, trans brake, 100 octane fuel, computer, tires, well prepped track, decent air, drive it enough to get it broke in... if they are not doing all the stuff perscribed there should be no belly aching about not running the numbers. From what I have seen the only ones doing EVERYTHING they are supposed to are actually getting close to 9.6 ETs. Try foot braking it or running 93 octane, or leave the big drag radials on the front and it is going to slow it down

Thunder Valley Dragway, isn't exactly known as the place to run personal bests. I'd be curious to know what one of those cars would run on a decent track, with a set of bias ply slicks. Trying to get the car down a marginal track with Drag radials is completely different.

Couldn’t link on my iPad for some reason.... search “SRT DEMON” all caps. His page has the black Demon logo and a side shot of his red car.

They put a VP pump in with 101 no lead on his suggestion that more of these type cars will need it

When you can walk into any dealership and drive out in a daily driver car with at least 500 horsepower, it's a great time to be a car guy. boogie
