I've got a 70 Roadrunner convertible & I'm doing bodywork getting ready for paint. I have some rust areas where the top corners meet the body (left & right of Dutchman panel) and in the corners of the trunk drip rail channel.

1. I see corner repair patches at Goodmark, AMD & Sherman, but they appear to be for hardtops. Can I still use these as patches with some modification or what should I do?

2. I'm pretty sure the trunk channels are the same as hardtops. What should I use to patch these corners?

THANKS FOR YOUR ADVISE!

Here are the body corner patch pieces that I was looking at. They are listed on AMD as "not for Charger or convertible".

"Maybe" cut a patch out of this deck filler panel.

And use sections of these trunk gutters.

When I did my Coronet a few years ago Year One had those convertible specific corner pieces. They needed to be massaged to line up body line.

I restored a road runner convertible some time ago. I can’t remember what I did in that area.

But I would recommend stripping the area down to see what you are actually dealing with before buying anything. I think that area is leaded just like an e-body convertible.

Here is a link to my restoration pics which may come in handy at some point in your Resto.

Tell me more about your runner!

If you remember where you found those corners for a convertible, please let me know.

Hey Finoke, beautiful Roadrunner. You sold me a driver's door belt molding a year or two ago. I'm just now starting body work to get ready for paint.

What white paint did you use on the inside of your doors?
