i was wondering if you have tested your car with and with out the exhaust, and was also wondering what you run for exhaust- fromt the headers back. what muffs and how loud is the car driving on the street? i seem to remember that you had a different system with a x pipe that you sold to zippy if im not mistaken? was there a difereance between your old system and whats on the car now?

I never run open headers... too freakin' loud.

Old system from 2000:
- Hooker 1 7/8" Comp headers
- 3" inlet / outlet Dr. Gas x-pipe
- 3" Flowtech Terminator (chambered) mufflers
- 2.5" compression-bent tailpipes

440Jim bought the center section (x-pipe & mufflers) and put it on his 'Cuda. ZIPPY bought the headers. The tailpipes are still sitting in my basement.

New system:
- TTI 2" A/B/E-body headers
- TTI 3" x-pipe system
- 3" Dynomax Ultraflow mufflers
- 3" TTI tailpipes

I'm sure the new system is better for the 50 extra HP the car's making now. But the bigger pipes and straight-through mufflers are quite a bit louder. I'm looking at adding some 3" bullet mufflers to the tailpipes as resonators to tone it down a bit, if there's room for them.

thanks for the rundown brad. my current exhaust is 3 inch non madrel bent pipe with an h pipe going into a flowmaster tappered reducer and then into 2.5 dynomax super turbos. when i first did this exhaust on the car i ran 3" 50 series flowmasters but i drive the car a fair bit and got really sick of the noise so i added the reducers and 2.5 inch mufflers. it is now pleasant to drive but the one time i ran the car at the track i left about 3 tenths on the table. i have race bullets that i bolt on for the track now and was thinking about upgrading the street exhaust so i wouldnt have to spend 20 minutes swapping the exhaust before i go racing. and then putting the car back together when i got home.
