Great info!
Maybe then in 71 they all used the ECS? Cause my 71 Challenger, made and lived all it's life in MI, has the ECS thing in the trunk.
71 Evap Control became 50 states..
Don't know about that lopped off area, never seen it on E bodies which I work with more than B bodies, I've worked on a fair number of 70 B bodies & seen the vapor seporator/block off plate but never restored that part so I haven't noticed..Funny Moparts forces you to look at stuff that was never that important in the past...

More good info And ACTUALLY that part is from an A BODY. Seems I had 2 guys coming at me with the same ECS gasket need. The nasty gasket in the picture is off a 70 RR. I have it stapled to the E body gasket I do to check and show the similarity. The tube again is from an A body but again the gasket seems to fit (and overhang by a bunch just like in my Challenger) but the flat edge looks odd. Upon close examination it doesn't APPEAR to be saw cut. Looks factory?

My 71 Scamp had ECS. It was built in Windsor, Ontario Canada.

For 1970 it was called ECS (Evaporative Control System) it was also called EEC (Evaporative Emission Control)
In 1971 it was called NOX (Nitrous Oxide Emission Control)
The setups were completely different.
NOX is a completely different system that has nothing to do with the vapor recovery system attached to the fuel tank & bowl vent of the carb....NOX is created in the combustion chamber when combustion tempratures exceed the critcal threshold...
BTW 71 still had evap emmission control...As did 72...And 73...Oh 74 had it too..So did 84, 94 & 04 They also all have some form of NOX control...
