I don't see them as thugs. The fitted hats fit different then ones that have an adjustment in the back. They tend to go over your head and push your sunglasses down into your ears. I've tried to wear my fitted hats over my ears but it just feels wrong man. All hats come with straight brims. It's up to the guy if he wants to bend it. I think the younger generation tends not to. Hillbillies almost fold them things in half! Black clothes are kind of the norm for guys that constantly work on cars. If they are anything they are more southern rocker types than gang bangers. Especially Monza, Doc and Chuck. Sean seems like a cool dude I'd like to hang out with. Since Justin is his best friend I tend to believe that he took more of an acting role for the show. You have to admit that they build some cool rides and flog the hell out of them. Car guy all the way for that.

I did read your post... One guy wears his hat without a bent brim and pulls his socks up. Another has a long goatee. What's gang banger about that? Then the rest of the guys, daddy dave, farm truck, doc, monza etc.... all part of the cast, thugs too?

Like I said I get your trying to stir the pot or maybe just get the post locked... but still don't get your logic of saying how these people are thugs or whatever. In the real world, there's millions of people who aren't thugs that dress and act like these guys.

Those cars are EXTREMELY loud. It would probably take a train horn to be heard in the car.

Maybe that’s the true difference between street cars and cars pretending to be street cars. Lol.

Pretending to be street cars? When did they ever claim to be street cars? They race on the street. "Street" Outlaws. You figure after 10 seasons, some people would be able to grasp the concept. I guess not.

Um, where did I say they were not race cars? People are hung up on the "street" part of it, which is the premise of the ENTIRE show. They race on the street. That's why Chief says in the into "street raced cars". Not street cars. Seems everyone wants to find a reason to dislike the show. Whether it be how they act, how they wear their hats, where they race, what terminology they use to that isn't acceptable to the short-sighted. Reminds me of a bunch of women at the salon with their hair in curlers gossiping. hahahaha
They are doing what they love, and if the show ended, they would go back to doing it illegally. Good on them for making a living doing something they enjoy.

I always enjoy the show, they are full tilt race cars that race on streets, they are not trying to be street cars. All the different characters make it interesting too.
There are alot of car shows on tv these days, but Street Outlaws is the only one that all my co-workers talk about on a daily basis and they are not car guys.
When we have family parties at our house, everyone is talking about it no matter how young or old they are.
When we go out with friends on the weekend the SO subject is always brought up and they are not car people.
It's nice to talk cars and it blows my mind how many people are interested now, along with the fact that all of our local tracks seen to be full of cars these days. I love it.

I'm still trying to understand your logic of thinking they are gangster thugs or whatever... Nothing you say about them effects me personally in anyway. I watch the show, I don't act/dress etc like them, I don't street race. It's entertainment, just like people making fools of them self wanting to talk about how they dress.

Let it go guys, let it go. If you don’t like the show please don’t even click on the post. There are plenty of other interesting post out there.

Come on now, then you wouldn't have the ridiculous commentary regarding fashion and thuggery. I can wear my SO starter kit as it's 75 out and not a flake of snow in site. Others are going about doing the following...

I like it. Good for the fans and good for the tracks. Most of them are very approachable. I went to the Beech Bend one and talked to most of them easily.

Well said. There are a couple people at work I talk about it with pretty regularly. I've talked to people that really don't know much about the cars, or the racing itself, but enjoy the personalities.

If it's entertaining and racing, I'll watch it. On the podcast Chief doesn't seem like he's very interested, but there seems to be plenty that are. I think it will sure give the fashion police here on Moparts plenty to gossip about and argue about. hahahaha

You can watch the no prep races on youtube the weekend they happen... still interesting to watch and see goes on behind the scenes. A lot of the guys already were going to no prep races on a regular basis. Good to get a tv show vs watching some feed online to get the full story.
