The traction kinda stunk so that leads to more engine carnage

Your thoughts? I feel bad for J.Linburgh. The team only has 1 race car Me thinks Jim Head has more than one funny car in his stash It is really to bad they didn't have a back up car at that race ready to run though

Linburgh got the double wammy.

5 car bodies(6 counting Linburghs) untold numbers of parts two trips to the hospital and all in 10 runs. Force has quite a season going so far for sure.

I am sure JFR will lend them one of their spares...LOL Robert Hight said the linburgh car was an old JFR car. Sounded like JFR was going to get them another car in some way. If I was force I would have a new crew chief before vegas.

I think I heard them say on All Access that they put a rev limiter on their engines to keep the speed down. Number one I don't think its helping with the 337 MPH they ran this weekend. And number 2 I think there are better ways to go about this. Those cars are pumping a lot of fuel on the top end.

Both FC and TF have had limiters for a few years, but the limits were different between the two classes. At the end of last year nhra changed the rules and now both classes have the same limit, 7900 rpm. FC was 7750 rpm before the rule change. http://competitionplus.com/drag-racing/n...c-class-in-2018Nhra needs to do something to slow FC cars down. Way too much engine carnage. The drivers will either end up broke or dead. Del worsham was trying out a third parachute to help stop his car in phoenix.

They also said the chutes are getting beat up bad so he added the third chute to maybe help out on this issue. The day that Jim Head quits or retires the sport is gong to take a big hit. He loves engineering and he’s the go to guy for a lot of these teams. As far as slowing down the cars NHRA is their own enemy. Carbon fiber, titanium, and magnesium parts make the good teams better and the bad teams broke.

I think its time for John to retire before he gets seriously hurt or hurts somebody else, seems to be having issues keeping it together or in his own lane, dont he have enough Wallys, really!! tired of the Force / Schumacher show, He who has the most money wins, show me sportsmans classes, oh I can for an additional $120, I support my local drag strips, we are the true grassroots racers! Just my 2 cents
86 Daytona - 612/ glide - 2400lbs - 8.60 alot more left 71 S/G Challenger - 469/glide - 2800lbs - 9.20s and tuning 70 Challenger - mild 440/727 - 3475lbs - 10.96 best 70 GTX - future quick 16? more $$$$$$

Only way they're going to hurt any GM parts is if the Suburban breaks down on the way to the hotel. The only thing the GM change over involved was slapping Chevrolet stickers on the valve covers.

NHRA limits the mag's to 44 amps, as part of an effort to slow them down for safety. With out more spark, it's hard to light the immense load of fuel. So when it doesn't light, there is no combustion pressure to blow all the fuel out of the cylinder. Fuel builds up, it hydro locks, and boom! So the safety rules helps them blow up and crash. They all want to win really bad, they are on the edge with their tune ups. Throw more fuel at it, make more power, have a chance to win, and a chance to blow up. Or cut back the fuel load, make less power and lose. Tuff choices.

BTW, the Rev limiters are not like our msd's that cut cylinders. That would be an instant bomb. They only cut back the timing when they reach the rev limit.

Do they even run a different engine? I figured it was basically all the same, just a different body.
