for you guys who are doing vibratory tumbling on aluminum parts what medias are you using in your machines? I use stainless steel media, does a nice job, works pretty much on every alloy, I just did some aluminum Supercharger drive parts, looks like I spent all day on the buffing wheel they came out so nice, tumble/vibratory is really great, gets into EVERY crevice and polishes 100% FYI I do vibratory/tumbling with water and soap solution along with the SS media, keeps the balls clean! otherwise they get gummy

I often consider buying a cheap cement mixer and using that. It would be more of a "tumbler" than a vibrator. Now that's the best thought I've heard in a while. I've got a gearmotor that I salvaged from one of those Chinese mixers.....
