These events and test n tune events drawl some nice crowds with little or zero payouts. Bingo. TnT nights are profit for the track. No payout to worry about. The last time I was at MCIR, it was like driving down a regular road, so it's already a no-prep venue. Like it or not, Street Outlaws has made people interested in trying to beat the next guy heads up or grudge race the smack talking neighbor. Bracket racing just doesn't have the exposure it needs anymore.

Around here, our heads up, no time guys, are always oiling down the track and take forever to stage...Total waste if you ask me. We get to see one or two pairs attempt to go down the track, and inevitably someone blows up... Would be nice to see all of them have a containment system....Including all the 5.0 guys that seem to be above this rule cause they are "street" cars....
My "street" car blew up one year...rod out the side...Not a drop of oil on the track.

Yeah I do not get the heads up and grudge car forever stage procedure, makes no sense. I think if I were to get in the line of racing I would burnout and light the pre stage asap just to get in the other guys head.
I can see why a track may not want to do a bracket program, bracket guys can be fussy and high maintenance. Our local track really cut the schedule back and when it does have bracket events people [censored] about the timing in relation to other tracks(several within a few hours). This year it looks like they have added more bracket racing though which is good.

Sounds like they are building a grudge race environment since that is where the action is these days. In the past year or so, I've seen crowds at these no-prep/grudge/NT events grow like no other. When too many rules are applied to a naturally unruly sport, something fizzles out. So in this case, the inevitable is returning as a street race mentality with safety barriers. I could be wrong, but perhaps the bracket guys have been feeling a sense of boredom in their own backyard. You aren't wrong. We race primarily grudge now.
