Hey Guys,

I have some reveal molding from a car that was in a fire. It's in good shape other than being discolored. Can that be polished out, or is this stuff toast?

Also, who is the go to guy on restoring trim these days? I need to do all the trim on a'69 Charger.

Thanks!
Randy

My father had a major fire in his garage. Basically burned to the ground. Insurance wise it was a royal PIA. In the end when it came to molding pieces stainless and chrome off the car(s) he had a choice. Buy replacements or the insurance would pay to fix it. If it was in a fire and you have insurance I would go in that direction. Either way both the chrome and stainless where fixed.

Heat discoloration on stainless is superficial and anybody who does polishing should be able to restore it to its original finish, no problem.

I have some 70 Challenger trim that was also in a fire. The stainless should not be a problem
