Looks like a 9 under the last 2?

One thing for sure, it isn't a Mopar Performance cam. I'm quite sure the "272" refers to advertised duration and MP/DC never named cams for their duration.

It most likely isn't an Isky cam because Isky usually had 270 degree cams, not 272.

So you're looking through all the old cam catalogs looking for cam families with a "9" or a "91" numbering prefix for B/RB engines.

no, is not a purple... which in any case I think MP never got stamped? ( not on my 280/474 at least )

I'm really unsure where to search. Comp doesn't have ant duration rate like 272. I think neither Crower

The pink and red paint marks tell me it started life as a mopar cam of some sort.

I pulled an old Crane cam, RV design, out of a 440 I bought years ago. It had 272 stamped on the end of it.

IIRC the Crane cam I pulled w/272 stamped on it was an Energizer series. I have been looking and the only Crane cam with 118881 comes up as a mech roller for small block chevy. Perhaps it's a very old part number.

as mentioned it seems could be 911881 due a previous stamp to the last 2 of the 272
