With the year almost over and bad weather for a couple months it's time to reflect on the past race season. I started out the year a little late and on bad tires. The car was running ok but I couldn't find any hook and the 1st couple outings in may and June were a struggle to keep it off the wall. I try'd to adjust shocks and launch RPM but nothing helped. I changed so much stuff I got a little lost I bought a new set of tires and since I had it backed way down the car went A to B the 1st pass with them. So I didn't change anything for a month. Just ran it every chance I could and got some seat time and had fun. I went 4's everywhere I went and had a blast. I did have an issue with the car not pulling over 7000 RPM but I didn't care. It was fast like it was and I was getting seat time. I was comfortable enough I started entering races and even though it would only go to 7000 RPM I was racing. I didn't have much luck but I got down when no other cars could so I was excited. I got bit by the least expensive part on the car when a set screw fell out of the throttle body and cost a race. I still had fun 😎 I had people telling me it's the baddest car there and caught the eye of a lot of folks. It was the fastest car at the track several times so that was pretty cool too. Then I had a friend that ran a local Outlaw program ask me to go to Memphis with him and some of his guys to race JJ DaBOSS. I'm not a street racer and was really nervous but jumped at the opertunity. It was a learning experience and I got hustled with some "Chase is a Race" BS! I went down with the car still not pulling over 7000 RPM and never been on a street with this car so my expectations were low lol. I just wanted to not blow the tires off. I got matched up with JJ's wife as she drove the red Nova that did the wheelie against OKC. She left and I never caught her. She won but crashed after the finish line. It will be on TV and I hope I don't look like to big a fool. I try'd and hope we get to race them again. After that deal I came home and had to buy new tires again, because as she was crashing in front of me, I spun my car out trying to get stopped and trying to not hit her as she was flipping and rolling down the street. That was a costly weekend but my car was still in one piece so I looked at it as a victory lmao. I decided that I was going to start turning it up to get ready for next year and went into testing mode. I was still fairly consistent in the 4's but the 7000 RPM deal was holding it back in the mid 140 MPH range. I searched the EFI and MSD and finally found a Rev limiter for the injectors I had missed. It was set at 7000 lmao. I turned it up a little and the car went consistently over 150 mph. I was pretty happy with that but I never had the sixty foots that I put down last year. Then I ran out of weather and must wait till March . But I know what it needs to get the sixty back, I have the top end fixd. And it's setting on new tires just waiting for decent weather. All in all I had a blast running this car I bought from a junkyard so many years ago. It's fast as heck and I'm finally convinced I have a handle on this thing. When I tell you I built it from a junkyard car to a 4 second race car most people don't realize how much I built lmao. The few that do know, I hope yall enjoy seeing the vids and pics. I hope I fly the MoPar banner hi enough for yall to buy some T shirts because I have some coming in January. Thanks for all the help over the years and I wish Monte was here to keep me straight.

Sounds like you had a good year despite the gremlins! Be sure to let us know what episode you will be on so we can tune in. And put me on the list for a shirt....
Any upgrade plans for the winter?

I run FAST EFI. I have the XFI black box on the Avenger and the old gray box on the Valiant. I got the Valiant out twice this year to a couple bracket races. Went some 5.90's with it.
Best pass of the year for the Avenger was a 4.87 at 145. The car was on the limiter for 200 feet on this pass but I didn't lift lol. I expect some 4.70s at 150+ pretty early next year. Then I'll start dialing in the sixty foot to see what it can do. I expect some 1.09 sixtys pretty early. It went 1.15 last year but never got back to thar this year.
Since Photobucket went down I'm not sure how to post pics. My files are to big for attachments.
Thanks gents.

Hats off to you bro. There are very few people who have taken a car as far as you have on their own. The amazing thing to me is you’ve litterally hand built your whole car(how many people build a body), but you can’t figure out how to post pics🤯😁 Seriously.... my absolute favorite car.

I am going to make my way down there sometime next year. I have so much vacation time built up that I need to burn. Just never seems as though there is a good time to take off. I need to “stretch the legs” on the old cummins and go on a road trip. South is gonna feel real good after a few more months up here. I’d like to get an early start on the season with my buddie’s turbo nova. Maybe drag that down there with me. Burned a piston last year on my behalf. Had the GM heat sync coils with the dwell set to high... those coils discharge early when the dwell is to high. My tune up cost him some pistons! Free tune ups anyone?

I got a place you can stay. It's a little guest house. We can take the cars out, I have several tracks within two hours of here. This is a pic I took out of a vid. I just love the fact that he was talking [censored] in the staging lanes and then didn't get off the starting line.

Blown71X, he's been here and hung our with me. I took him to a redneck bar. He don't drink lmao. He got to see country girls and even a fight after the bar closed. He still talks about that night lmao Rick sold the GTX and started a new car and it just takes time. He got fed up with the taunts and 2nd guessing that this site likes to throw out at times and just don't come here anymore.
Jeremiah it's pretty cool you remember those vids of my driveway and Blown71X,and TRENDS cars. I wish I got to see the MoLds run before he sold the motor. TRENDS was a BIG inspiration for me to get my car finished. He was the 1st mopar turbo guy that beat on his stuff.
I got to ride in the 71X, it was a bad ride.
Check out my face book page Acceleration Nation
. It has vids and pics of my stuff
