Switching from a glide to a torqueflight on my Hemi GTX. What brand/model blanket or shield are you guys running. Ease of installation and maintenance are of importance. Remember, this car has stock floor pans Thanks!

What shifter do you use?Cable or rod ?All but the CF will get burned depending on the headers[fender exit or under chassis]I liked the more flexible blankets w/full coverage.

RCI blanket is a tight fit but works on my car (904, Duster, stock floor).

Anyone run the short 727 blanket from A&A Transmission?

The motor is a hemi....under chassis headers. Shifter is a B&M mot sure if cable enters front or rear. Really only need B body big block experience. Thanks!

Mine is an E body w/ a hemi, but should be the same as B body in this situation. I use the carbon fiber CSR shield. Have to hammer the seam flat where the firewall meets the floorpan and have to cut the lugs off the trans case where the factory shift linkage bolts up. It's all snug, but works great. It saved my feet when my 727 exploded in 2008. I have 2.25" primary TTI headers and they fit fine.

an8sec70cuda.... Do you have pictures you can post of the floor seam remodeling required? When I swap to the 727 I will not be pulling the engine, so if it can be done correctly with the trans out then no problem.

Make some cuts, about n inch apart n tap them against the tunnel. A billet drum would save some headaches.

Yes I believe DJ Safety makes it to A&A's specs.

Yes you can do it w/ the motor still in the car. I don't have any pics, but you'll see it immediately when you drop the trans. Just hammer it so it's flush w/ the rest of the floor. You can see what it looks like before hammering it flush in Clanton's pic.

Rickraw...even if you have a billet drum, you still need some sort of shield or SFI bellhousing to be legal.

Finally got all my stuff today - converter from A1
Fitted it all up . Blanket fits a treat , from ext housing gasket to just up bell housing . Plenty of space on passenger side to header . Barely 1/4" - 1/2" clearance on driver side . I fitted aluminium heat shield to help out .
I go have Dougs headers , 3 1/2" collectors .
Testing tbis saturday so any isdues let you know

My advice for the driver side header is to get some ceramic matt 1/2" thick and wrap the header with header wrap around the matt on the pipe.
