Who is familiar with the yellow Hotchkis Challenger? I saw it on the Power Tour about three years ago.

I went crazy over the sound of that thing on the Power Tour. I am trying to wake up my Charger a little bit and if I could get the hit of the engine and exhaust tone like that that Challenger I’d be stoked. I looked at it on the PT but never got to talk to either person that was with it. I’m also guessing it had a Tremec set up from Keisler at the time.

Don't know alot about the car other than it has all their stuff on it. A few years ago at the MATS in Vegas a girl named Jill I think schooled everyone on the road course all weekend. Was a big turn out with lots of late models, imports and early muscle. She was at one with the T/A and just tore it up. Was consistently the fastest. Was really fun to watch her.

I’m on a mission and I need a good start. The TA is my motivation. Come on, throw me a bone.

The fact is my Charger build was all new and I was happy with it. But our group had stopped at a lookout in WV and this TA went by on the interstate ripping it and I said then that when it became time for a modification the sound of that Challenger was going to be a goal. It is that time.

Thanks Tom for the links. They didn't say it but Boom Tubes may be the secret. I've been wondering about those. Flowmasters surprised me but that's OK. I may already have a better engine but not a better sound. Talking to Silver Sport now about the trans.

I've seen it quite a few times in their shop and talked to them about it. It's a pretty basic Challenger drivetrain wise, 340-6 pack 4-speed. The suspension is all of their Hotchkis stuff. It doesn't even have a cage as most the interior except for the front seats is stock. However, it does have huge Stoptech rotors and calipers. I can't tell you the specs, but I believe it's close to 14" rotors and maybe a 6-piston caliper up front. Probably around 12" rotor in the rear with a 4 piston caliper. It's also running on Forgeline wheels and I think 295's on all 4 corners. I know a couple of years ago they were running 265's up front.
In my experience, and being around the SoCal Autocross scene, a fast car is 75% driver, 15% tires, 5% suspension, 5% others.

The last time I was up close to the Emax Challenger it had Flomaster mufflers that had been modified the last third to be side exit out to rocker panels, looked like 1.25" x 6"

It was up here for Hot August Nights, never got to hear it running. Wasn't at the autocross when I was out there running my car.
Ohh and Mary Pozzi can school most anyone behind the wheel. She's really fast.

I always wanted to fix the core support on that thing, but John wouldn't let me. Couple of questions/errors I saw for clarification... -Car runs a Hurst prepped, Bowler rebuilt TKO 600 -Tires are 275/35/18's front; 295/40/18's rear on stock sheet metal -Last dyno the engine made a whopping 304rwhp. A bit too much cam on the last rebuild unfortunately. The car REALLY showcases the ability of our cars with these suspensions and the futility of all the coilover/rack setups. Last few Carlisle events one of the fastest cars was running a mildly built /6! I really dug that car. Some of our competitors cars came to play; even with big tires, big power and a talented driver; they couldn't get it together. Some of them that we know are regularly raced just sat on the show field <shrug> Mufflers are flowmasters with a nascar-style tip welded to the sides of the cans for side exit and the factory hole on the muffler capped. The boom Tubes were being crushed between the SFC and "debris" (cones) from time to time.
