For sure, Ronnie will remain the most indelible name in Mopar drag racing history.
My prayers go out on behalf of his friends and family.
I’m listening.

I got the e-mail from Hemi Fred, and it hit me because I had just read his note in MCG. I meet Ronnie quite a few times and I was always amazed at how congienal he was with his time to his fans. He also commented how odd it was that people remembered him after all these years. His humility demanded that he remember himself as a blue collar race car driver and to us he was a legend. My Prays are with his family and I can't help but believe that God has him running the heck out of a Super Stock 71 Cuda shifting like lightning and pain free again. I am even more seriously thinking about painting my Duster in Sox and Martin colors....

It was tough to read all of these. I'm actually laying in bed on my computer now with tears down my cheeks. The emotions of everything hasn't hit me till just now. The impact ronnie had on my life is beyond anyone's comprehension. Without ronnie, myself nor any member of my family would be where we are. Had he not given my dad a shot at driving one of his cars, who knows how things would have been for us. Ronnie and my father spent more time together between late 69-72 than most people spend with their families. I can't express what I feel right now. While I was never close to ronnie personally, his impact on me will never be forgotten.
I really don't know what to say at this point. I never thought it would hit me this hard emotionally. I know his family and close friends, my father especially, really appreciate the good words.

Mike, Spoken like a true human. Emotions that aren't known creep up. Hope comfort comes to you soon and relish in the fact your family were and are among legends.

I confirmed that the Bon Secours Hospice that the family mentioned in the obituary cared for "The Boss." They accept donations at the following address: 5875 Bremo Road Suite 710 Richmond, Virginia 23226 USA (804) 627-5360

Ronnie Sox will be missed by all. I met him about two maybe three years ago, very nice guy and enjoyed talking with him. I will keep his family in my thoughts and prayers.

This has been a tough week. I did find this quote in a news article: Quote:
Ronnie's wish was that more could be done for children suffering from cancer. Donations may be sent in Ronnie's memory to: American Cancer Society 4240 Park Place Ct. Glen Allen, VA 23060 804-572-3700 Please indicate that this is being sent in Ronnie's memory and to reference Diane's information so that she will then be notified of receipt.
