Thanks for the compliments! The valves were titanium, age unknown. One thing with them is the heat, don't think they move the heat out to effectively with regular seats.
Our pistons are Diamond too, have the part number, I guess they can get the valve locations and angles with that number.

I've been told that you should have Magnezium (SP?) bronze valve seats with Ti valves Is that the same as beryllium seats? Kevin

Anyway, have to renew the valves and since we only plan to wind to about 7000, the stainless should work great.

Go with Inconel. I've noticed lash can stay tighter and consistent with varying temperature compared to stainless. My stainless valves always came out purple and the seating area of the valves always looked imprinted. The Inconel valves never looked abnormal. They are heavy.

I got them through my machine shop. C&S performance(Butler Wisconsin), but from what I remeber, they were 1.88'' BBC valves turned down to 1.81". I believe there was some stem work also, but I didn't do it myself, so take it for what its worth. I don't think I was ever told who made them, but I did get my old stuff back in a Manley box.

Manley severe duty Inconel, have lasted great so far. When facing the valves you can tell they are high quality.

One problem with the FBS heads is that the valves are LONG. You just don't take something and cut it to fit, they are almost 7".

You can have anything made. Mine were done that way because they were readily available shelf items and needed minimal modification. I had the most basic, close to "standard" heads. I realize that what you are running is more exotic. Just more of a reason to go with the better parts. EFIdart has predator heads. I'm not real sure about the valve sizes used in those...
Anyway, you both have very impressive cars. I applaud your perseverance. You have a lot of fans here!

11223 Manley is what is in my exhausts, 6.7" long. 2.45" intake and 1.88" exhaust.
Ill see if I can find a part number for my Ti intakes.

Beryllium copper is used for valve seats. It is only 2% beryllium, all that is needed, I guess.
When titanium valves are mentioned, I think of Del West Engineering. They have a very good reputation. Their titanium valves are one piece forgings. They can do hollow stems and even sodium filled stems. They have a European branch at Roche, Switzerland.
R.
Why titanium? It's strong as steel at half the weight. Titanium has a higher melting point than steel. (The SR-71 spy plane had a titanium skin because neither stainless steel nor aluminum would retain their strength or not melt at very high speeds. This was reported about as soon as the planes were declassified.)

Speaking of the SR71 we use to live about 45 miles from AFB 42 at Palmdale Airport where Lockheed made all the SR71, they kept what they called the house bird at Edwards AFB, about fifteen miles to the northeast. We went over to Edwards AFB several times on their open house days, one of the Lockheed employees acting as the spokepeson for the SR71 made a comment on one visit about the SR71 growing 14 inches longer at cruising speeds above 63,000 Ft due to air friction heat on the skin At that altitude or higher it is common to see -65 F outside air temps Lots of information shared with the public after those planes where retired My wife uncle help design parts on that airplane back in the day of slide rules Lockheed and other military contractors did a lot of Department of Defense work that developed products we still don't know about, especially from 1981 to 1989

I do not want to invent a space shuttle again, and have no means of doing so. So, have to ask for solutions that I can afford. The car and the head s are still somewhere.. perhaps they will be here before next years drag week so that we can prepare for it....
