I didn't know the offset was supposed to be different from intake to exhaust. Mine appear to be the same. Do you know what the differance should be?

Check out page 11 of Indy Cylinder Head ( pricelist) webpage and it lists a different part number for intake and exhaust rockers. Their kit says the rockers are for a TA style head. I tried to find the offset but I don't think its listed.

Thanks, I'll call Indy on Monday. It would be nice if it was as simple as that.

my Indy rockers for these heads look to have the same offset intake and exhaust.

I use the 1.5 rockers on my Indys. I have a pair of them in front of me as I am writing. Intake and exhaust have the same offset. My understanding from Indy is that these heads use the same rockers as big block SR heads. Since SR heads are designed to accept standard big block rockers it stands to reason that any standard replacement big block rocker should fit. Also standard big block rockers [ everything from stamped steel to aftermarket ]use equal offset. One saving grace if you can grind enough clearance is that with a hydraulic your spring pressures are probably modest and with such a short pushrod 5/16 should be more than sufficient

This is how far they are off. The pushrod hole is so far off, the tip of the pushrod can not even seat in the lifter and you can see how far off it is to the rocker.

I think you are missing the intake rockers which have a greater offset Matt

I wish my valve covers where off I would take a picture but my rockers are the same as what he has pictured same offset on both intake and exhaust and I did not have this problem.

The rockers in the pic are the correct ones.... they are 440-1 big block exhaust rockers. There should not be a 3/8" gap between the rocker body & the hold down, I think you're missing some spacers. In that pic, I don't see what would be preventing the pushrod from going closer to the rocker adjuster, looks like it should have a fairly straight shot up through there to the adjuster, I'm guessing it is hitting the pushrods hole where it should be with a tall seat lifter which is not side to side clearance issue, it's fore/aft clearance. (intake face of head to exhaust side of head direction) & Yes as said before anyone who has ever tried to run the +400" taller hyd rollers with ANY type of LA head has to clearance the pushrod holes in the intake face/exhaust flange face direction.

I'm grinding as we speak. Thanks everyone for your help. I'm new to moparts.com and this has been an incredible help.

If anyone wants to see the car you've helped me with it'll be in an upcoming issue of Mopar Muscle Magazine. Blue 67 Barracuda. Thanks again!
